Fabia 1.9 vRS 2005

Featured Replies

Hi.

Just purchased a Fabia 1.9 Tdi PD 130 vRS this morning. Having spent the last couple of weeks scouring the Ads for a replacement for my wife Fiat Stilo 2.4 Abarth which was written off thanks to some careless driver who can't see a parked car.

Spent the last week touring around test driving various cars in various conditions. It's amazing what people class as excellent condition.

After some searching and a 3hr round trip this morning have myself a Magic Black vRS with black alloys on 05 plate.

My over eagerness to get the ecu remapped I was straight on the phone to Rapid Remap in Cannock to get booked in. To my suprise they could fit me into today.

The car was acting a bit funny on the way over to them only showing 24mpg at 70mph in 6th. So slowed it down just in case.

I opted for half & half remap so about an extra 20% fuel & performance. 170bhp & 350 nm torque. After about 25 mins I was informed that the car already been remapped badly by previous owner who had tried to increase power by 90%. Thankfully managed to get there before anything bad had been done. About another half hour all done.

A well spent £180 better performance, smoother no flat spots and increased fuel consumption. There still seems to be something not quiet right so popping it into the garage for a quick once over.

Will be sending seat solutions to have the seats redone in leather.

There a few other small things that need restoring, bonnet badge & gearstick label peeling.

Will post pics soon

Hello Simon and welcome along. Congrats on the purchase and what a well timed first mod

Car is now booked in for a service to check evrything over and just got off the phone with Seat Surgeons to get my new leather upholstery spec sorted.

Any one whose seen's Tim's seat's I'm going for something similar, with black stitching on the square quilting and silver grey stitching elsewhere.

Also order a new bonnet badge & gear stick insert.

Update... Still having performance problems so getting car booked into performance torque - www.p-torque.co.uk and have my map taken off to see if we can find what's causing the problem in standard mode. Then have the car remapped once sorted. Will at Performance Torque in Womboune has been very helpful and can't recommend him highly enough.

It's 9.30 in the Morning and just arrived at Seat Surgeons to have my leather retrims done. So excited, will post pics later.
