Sorry just noticed that it goes to £402 shipped

Could you link up that smf valeo for that price please mate? Seems gOod value :)

That looks like the right standard spec kit to me, worth asking them what torque it handles though just to make sure it's the same ~300lbft that you'd get out of an OEM clutch from TPS.

As for whether it's "better", define better? It may hold more torque, it may not, it may last longer, it may not. The one thing it will do if you're not planning on getting huge amounts of torque is it'll be much quieter and smoother than the SMF setup, they can be very rattly.

I think I seen on there site that they have a different clutch plate for more power

They do, but not for £400 odd! I paid £1,200 for mine! It better be bloody good!

Yeah, they also sell uprated parts, but the link in the original post looks to be for a standard spec clutch kit (i.e. an alternative to what you'd get from GSF or EuroCarParts) and possibly the same as what you'd get from TPS (although just because it's made by Sachs like the OEM clutch doesn't mean it's the same!)

The uprated ones are pretty much into 4 figures as Jason says (my Sachs/Jabbasport SMF kit was £990, Darkside were just the other side of £1k (and had a more chattery flywheel hence why I didn't use them).

what've you gone for? my horrible Sachs SRE paddle clutch seems to have shat itself

Mine is the SRE but its the top one 440lb.ft one. Don't think its a paddle clutch from memory.

That valeo smf is from a locall motor factors iv read it takes a little over stock power and should be quiet like a dmf due to heavy duty springs, apparently that dmf they sell is the same as skoda/vw fit as original

Springs? There aren't any in a SMF. Or do you mean the friction plate itself is sprung?

And I'm pretty sure the 440 one is a paddle Jason, I'm sure the full plate organic I was looking at was only 390lbft on Darkside's website (although it's listed as anywhere up to 410 elsewhere).

No sorry not on the flywheel its self but on friction plate as it only uses valeo clutches
