SKODA Fabia 1.9 TDi PD 130 vRS

Featured Replies

Hello All,

A while back I asked for people to persuade me to not buy a mk1 vrs, unfortunatly I test drove on one friday. Now I want one.

Now I don't care about miles and I've seen one on autotrader. 2004 with 140,000 miles on it. 1 former keeper and to quote ''140k backed up by a full servcie history to include cam belt change at 80k'' This to me would say a cambelt change is due? It also has 12 months MOT that apparantly passed with no advisorys. It looks good from the photo's and it's very cheap, at £2595, no reg number so can't do a HPI before viewing, but does say it's HPI clear. Also apparantly a full ''PDI Service''

So going to view it on friday I think - any hints or tips, or advice on what to view? ? I've had a fiat punto 1.2 8v that had 150,000 miles on it and that had no true service history (lol I loved that car) For some reason I just think it's too cheap and might be a dog.

Thanks!

The pd 130 engine is normally bomb proof as long as it's been correctly serviced which this car seems to have been. The price for a top condition vrs with that mileage sounds right to me. You could ask the seller to increase the price if you think it's too cheap lol!

Good to see your not scared of a few miles like a lot of people who think cars turn to scrap after 50k miles.

My pd 130 is on 119k miles and running like a dream even though it's been running 205bhp and 380ftlbs most of it's life.

I did have to replace the camshaft and followers (top end overhaul) due to running extra power(and trackdays) and the weak std cam followers which now have been upgraded to the the matt black versions. Since then the car feels really healthy.

Cambelt is due at 60k or 4yrs since last change (whichever is sooner), so it needs doing. Do the water pump at the same time. You could do an MOT test history here - MOT

At least you can see how its done at previous MOT's since 2007.

Apologies for jumping in here - but I've never seen that MOT site before!

Unfortunately the OP doesn't presently know the registration number and you need further info to check the MOTs in any case - but I've just tried mine.

It's accurate except for the following rather remarkable entry:

Change of details

Type of fuel:

Petrol recorded at time of test on 12/07/2011
