Battery warning light

Featured Replies

Hi all,

After a bit of help, started the car this afternoon and noticed that the battery light stayed on and also my air con wasn't blowing out. Is this my battery on its way out or another issue?

Any advice or help would be great

Cheers

Rob

Anyone help me with this?

it may be the battery or i it could be alternator. I would get both checked for FREE at halfords. I am pretty sure its free.

If it starts as normal then I would err towards alternator, I believe the battery light senses low voltage which goes out once the electrical system senses 11V+ (approximately).

Easiest way to check is to get a multimeter across the battery terminals with the engine running, normal readings are between 13.5-14.5V...

Good luck!
