Octavia Vrs may have to go!

Featured Replies

Hi all, i'm moving house to another part of doncaster and my new quote has gone up 300 smackers!! and its a better area....... apparently!! This means im going to have to sell up or swap for something cheaper. :( While im doing this i may as well get a diesel for work. Im 21 so as if the insurance aint bad enough, they want me to pay 180 a month. Anyone got ideas of what to get?

Astra diesel

Ye possibly :)

Try getting a new quote from another insurer for a full 12 months with a view to terminate your current policy. Only problem doing this is that you'll lose any no claims acumulated in the current term.

Ye possibly :)

That was a joke btw!

Fabia VRS?

Fabia VRS?

cant afford to pay anything more at all. all money tied up in house. gf got the fabia vrs and i wish i could afford one, hers is mint!

mannyo - shelled out 220 deposit for this one a month ago, cant afford that again really. dont wanna let this car go its the best ive had! :(

Swap for a 1.9TDI? Although with what VRS's are worth at the moment it would have to be a high miler diesel

Change insurance company

Just leave it insured at your old house haha

You could get a 0% credit card and get a quote for the full 12 months in one go, it will be a lot cheaper than paying monthly. Pay it on the CC and then pay off the CC over the next 12 months, interest free. If the CC only lasts for 6 months get another one and transfer the balance.

If the house is the priority then just get a cheap runaround, that's why I sold my VRS, you can always buy another one a few years down the line when you've racked up some no claims and are a bit older the insurance will be much cheaper.

cheers guys! Im goin t do all i can to keep her! Its a great car.

I'm a C so not bad! Insurance is a joke....I only have it to be legal

just checked my postcode im a B)

Try other Insurance companies.Theres got to be a better deal out there

My VRS is still insured at my parents address because i refuse to pay the extra 350 quid a year to insure it at my new house,

Its okay as long as you don't get it nicked from your new house like i did but luckily i got it back and didn't end up claiming else it could have got quiet interesting explaining what it was doing parked elsewhere that night

My parents is a doncaster postcode (DN14) and its cheaper than a a Wakefield postcode
