Go for the Octy 2 pdTDI. If you're bored with the Fabia and you've made your mind up that you want a new car' date=' you may as well go for a different model to the one you've got. Opting for the old Octy vRS would leave you wondering every time you see a Mk II (which will be more and more often).

Get some sports suspension and a few toys and you'll be glowing with pride. (just read some of the gloating in the new Octy section)

p.s. very nice looking car you posted.[/quote']

The car I posted is the Octy sport. It comes in 2.0l fsi or 2.0l pd. and is

Octavia vRS incredibly cheap now though.Seem to be going for abou

Think you have made your choice then ;)

If I walked into the showroom it is what I would want (new octy). If you are down to two it just leaves the question of space.Again,I think there is a done deal somewhere :D

my mind is open to all 3 choices, although the Octy vRS was 3rd and only a passing interest. I'm not making my mind up yet, but the Octy2 is the most attractive proposition at the moment, although I'm edging towards the sport over the elegance.

Octy 2.0l TDi

Space , Comfort , Toys , can still tinker with it, HUGE boot ( for all the alcohol on daytrips.), comparable insurance, fuel economy.

Please dont take offence in anything i say below roo - its only meant as my view, because i'm simple :)

How many people are there going to be in the car at any given time? It just seems to be tipping towards the kind of choice that 4x4 school runners make. I seem to remember clarkson donating little to no money to a donkey charity a while back, for the reason that his criteria wasnt met..... more than 2 people in a car at any one time.

Sorry just my view on a world where everything seems to be rather backwards :)

No offence i understand the points, that is why my choice is the 2.0 pd as it has comparable performance and economy to the Fabia vRS, so the only difference in how you are thinking is road space.

Yeah, its just the space occupied, i know you want extras and comfort, but i suppose there are different levels of comfort. Octy wont be comfortable to park or to judge width for in comparison to the fabia (i learnt in both at the same time). Also mainly the point to the space occupied, if it were to be used then its fine - but you can carry your clubs in a fabia cant you?

Actually thinking of it, i seem to remember you have golf clubs, so get a jag if you want big and comfort lol ;) - my boss recently got a jag xtype company car and now he's taken up golf....

Makes me sound like i am on a crusade to get everyone in smaller cars, but bigger ones just dont sell anything to me so thats why i dont understand :). Its mainly at manufacturer level the problem lies, as you cant get a car with the equipment and engine of your octyII 2.0PD in a smaller car...

I can just get them in, but it's struggle to put other stuff in due to the small boot.

I want space and the Octy 2 has it in bucket loads.

BUY MY OCTY!!!!!

NO A std is enough on the insurance with my history, let alone yours. It is a tempting thought though.

The problem with both the old and new Octy vRS would be the Insurance and economy. I'm not prepared to pay silly money to be covered, plus they have given me a good price on the Fabia

hi just thought i let you know the insurance on the octy vrs isn't as bad as you would think, i spent two days last week checking out qoutes for mine, and got one from sainsburys for

The insurance is double what I am paying for the Fabia, without an accident that I had last year taken into account NCB wise as it's not protected. I can afford the payments and the quoted insurance but at the end of the day, I don't want an Octavia vRS, specially as the new model is out. I may look at the new Octy vRS in a few years, but for now it's not really what I want.

 Profile under staff suggests something rather nice is on order

Colour?extras?

Yeah, I decided to plump for the Octavia II Sport in 2.0 pd version that there is a pic of in this thread. It will be in black with Xenons rain sensor wipers and the Audience radio/12 speaker package. I wanted cruise and rear parking sensors but neither was an option. Not sure on why not cruise but where the parking sensors fit is covered by the bodykit.

This is the first pic I have seen of the Octavia sport despite all the threads and speculation and pictures from accessories brochures.I want one :D

You have obviously had a spin in one and if the performance is comparable to the fabia vRS it must be great.

Don't think I can remember prices discussed.Any thumbnails of the interior?

This is the first thing that has woken me up today!

The car is the literal equivelant of the Fab vRS as it's basically it's the middle spec car with a body kit and sports suspension (although the engine is not unique in the model like in the fab).

The interior is just the Ambiente trim and I've driven another car with the engine in and it feels It feels just as fast as my Fabia to drive.

The Sport has only just become avaliable to order and has no brochure yet.

Picture wise I've seen what you have seen and basically the price is
