I'm undecided on what to do. I have the choice of 3 cars and I need serious help and though on what to do.

I can either:

A) keep my Fabia vrs

B) Buy an old shape Octavia vRS or

C) Buy a new shape Octavia 2.0l pd Elegance.

I have not made up my mind yet, but I'm edging towards the new Octy.

have you considered waiting for the new octy vRS?

The problem with both the old and new Octy vRS would be the Insurance and economy. I'm not prepared to pay silly money to be covered, plus they have given me a good price on the Fabia

Diesel or petrol elegance?

sorry, 2.0l Derv

New elegance if you need a boot.Fab if you don't.

Poll is not helping I see with a three way split!

I want comfort over sporty, but that part will be in the sports pack I was going to get as an option.

The what car group test suggested the sport pack spoilt the ride a bit.

Comfort must be pushing you to the elegance then.My octy vRS is a bit crashy over the potholes etc!

Arh but the with vRS you have the poise of a feline and can steer round them :)

Roo, oh what to do...given that list only and deal today...elegance.

*If* you need to mod it you can I'm sure later.

You will defintly be able to firm it up if you need to and the new octy actually handles very well out of the box. I borrowed a PD105 for 500 miles and really enjoyed it...however that was no where near wales, so I'm holding back final judgement.

Dam wrong day, new octy is no good for you stick with Fabia...and spend savings on trips to the New World.

Buy my Octy,

you know you want to!!!!!!

Buy the new Octy 2 I have one at the moment as a loan/courtesy car and it is good....handles very well, nice to drive, a lot more space in the rear seats and lovely dash and I am sat here looking at it now...... it's a really smart looking car......you can't go wrong

Afraid I drive more like an old tabby.Always in a daydream till I get the bone shattering reminder to watch the road.Explains the horrendous state of my kerbed wheels too :o

Suppose you can put the seats down in the furby.Interestingly my wife is suggesting we swop cars when then babies come. She has the octy to pile double buggies, kids in etc.I zoom around in the furby

To me it is a life changing moment I am not sure how to cope with. How selfish :D

OCTY 2.0L TDi

right 17 people so far have said Fabia vRS, but no one has said why. Chavvy replies like coes it's the dogs danglies do not count.

I said keep the Fabia as

1) You already own it

2) The insurance is cheaper

3) The mpg is loads better.

4) The performance is great too!

I'm sure the new Octy is a really lovely, comfy, refined car but you need to ask yourself - Is the extra space of the new Octavia worth the price and drop in performance?

I looks like the old vRS Octy is out of the running then...

Keep your old Furby. I own an Octy vRS and I would say keep due to the running costs (there's a sensible answer)

I really like my Fabia vRS: it's the most satisfying car I've ever owned. The combination of performance and economy really suits my needs. And I find it very comfortable on a long run (I commute over 100 miles a day).

However, if I were to need more space, then the Octavia 2.0 TDi would be at the top of my list.

I can't see me going back to petrol for a day-to-day car: I've got used to getting 50 mpg!

Personally, I'd go for the new Octy 2 Elegance. Luxury, combined with a decent engine (performance on paper on a par with the Fabia, except I suspect it is quicker as it has peak torque across 750rpm!) and the new Golf chassis. More toys than the other two, as well as being stealthier and as a result probably cheaper to insure and run :D

If I could afford one, I'd be placing my order today ;)

1) bored with it

2) same insurance group for 2.0l pd

3) MPG is about the same

4) perfomace is the same.

it looks nicer too....

After driving all three.. I would go for the Fabia vRS.. as its a car that makes you smile, both on how it goes and how much it does'nt cost to run...

The downside is that the Fabia is now long in the tooth and is lacking in similar area's as the MK1 Octavia, Stereo use of quality materials etc etc...

Having said that the mk2 Octy 2.0TDI is fantastic as well.. with the added bonus of bags more room and far more kit.. The suspension is a bit soft and the trim a bit 'luxury' so I reserve judgement until the TDI Sport or hopefully

a TDI vRS version is released....

Octy vRS is a bargain but is now outclassed by the new Golf GTI and the Leon Cupra R in terms of pace etc.... Also the prices will drop even further

when the new car is released...

So its down to if you need the space...

cheers

The TDi sport is just the Ambiente with leather trim, full ESP, a tyre pressure monitor, the sports suspension and wheels and the bodykit in the accesories brochure.

Depends upon why you want to change and what your requirements are.

Me I moved from an Y Reg Accord 2.0 Executive to the Octy 2.0 TDi Elegance. As I wanted better fuel economy, more rear leg room as the kids are now growing up (aged 3 & 6), plus wanted a decent boot, longer service intervals, and on top of all that wanted all the toys and gadgets internally that my Accord had. Ok opted out of the Leather Seats and the Sunroof is priced well OTT.

Plus the Octy saves me

Go for the Octy 2 pdTDI. If you're bored with the Fabia and you've made your mind up that you want a new car, you may as well go for a different model to the one you've got. Opting for the old Octy vRS would leave you wondering every time you see a Mk II (which will be more and more often).

Get some sports suspension and a few toys and you'll be glowing with pride. (just read some of the gloating in the new Octy section)

p.s. very nice looking car you posted.

Octavia vRS incredibly cheap now though.Seem to be going for abou
