Single by the looks of it dude.

I've got my eye on a couple of 328 tourings but I'm trying to steer clear as I'll get sucked into the modding lark again and I've just not the time or the commitment to start it all over again

Heh heh heh... leave that to me. ;)

Good choice!

Mate of mine is into his Vauxhalls and he's had a Mk4 GSI 3.0 V6 for years!

Was a massive cavalier gsi fan back in the day, had a fair few plus gte valver's. used to run a Cav gsi 4x4 with a 2.5 redtop in it, which was mega fun.

Decided to go back to my roots and get a mk3 Astra gsi because its the only one I've not done :)

Plus I've not got time to mess with them anymore (although I may change a few things if it comes off) ;)

Lol,

This already has a 3.0 conversion and stuff done so in theory I wouldn't need to touch it................famous last words :)

I am sure you will find a way of spending some money on it:).

What is insurance going to be on that big displacement motor?

Haha no doubt but shhhhh :)

Ins I'll look into when it happens, shouldn't be much difference to the BM tho I'd have thought.

No news is good news.......right??

As the old Chinese saying goes...

YOu have not heard from anybody so far, have you? Insurance, police, anybody?

The whole police thing is a joke.

Officer dibble (I'll call him that as swearing isn't allowed here), has said the car won't be released to the assessor's for another week or 2?!

He's not been in touch, I've had to chase round to get hold of him to find out what's goin on. It was examined on the 26th yet he's still being a c*** and holding it. I assume its because we logged a complaint against him so he's getting his own back.

Yup, it looks like you are being stigmatized here. Keep the pressure up man!

It's their duty to serve you... this peeves me.

Chin up, sirrah.

Nah, their duty is to CORRECTLY fill tons of paperwork, cover their doughnut fed ar$es, use blue light to get to that pub quicker for lunch and retire at a stately age of 45 with a massive pension :).

My best mate's an officer of the law, and he's the total opposite... but there we go!

Hope it all clears up soon Si. Is that Astra still available?

Same here! I knew plenty of police officers, had many late night convos with them. Some of them are the policy makers for the force. My post was rather ironic and commenting in a lamentable state of the force ...

Well let's hope I get in then. It'll be tonnes better. :D

It is for now mate but he's dropped the price so I doubt it'll be round for long.

The only bit of that that bears any resemblance to reality is that there is a lot of paperwork to do, and that is hardly the fault of the individual officers is it....

If the job was that easy, why don't you do it?

The reality is that you do thirty years of hard, often dangerous work including lots of unsociable hours with very little appreciation from the public.

At the end (typically mid 50s, as very few people start while still a teenager) of it you do get a decent pension (66% of final salary) but in the mean time you've earned less than a lot of far easier jobs, payed a decent chunk of your salary into that pension and have a lower life expectancy than the general public.

ahhh man What a ****!! id be so pi55ed. Hope your ok fella.

Fkin old dears.. id of gone all vinny jones in her door! :wall:

I am glad it is not you who I described but be honest and tell me with 100% conviction that you do not know of at least a few in the force like that? Job is tough. Walking the beat for years would drive me hopping mad. Driving around motorways in an interceptor would get me suicidal seeing the amount of stupidity going on on the roads. Then making sure all the paperwork is filled correctly at the end of it so no smart ar$e lawyer can throw my obvious case away on technicality would simply make me quit.

No wonder you got people in the force who are not there to serve and protect but to get paid at the end of the month while doing fek all or power tripping on their new found authority...

As if it so simply why don't I do it? I think I have enough on my plate :)

I sometimes have to work 60 hours a week and sometimes without sleeping. I will have to work as long as I am able to, probably till late 70 ties.

I will have no pension. I very often work around very dangerous heavy machinery or really dangerous building sites. I have to endure extrodinary level of stress on day to day basis with no appreciation from anybody, public the least. Yet without the likes of me people would be still living in caves and stick huts :D

It takes a special kind of person to be a copper. Generally bullied at school with a chip on the shoulder
