Snow, ice and wheel geometry

Featured Replies

I don't have winters on 06 vrs (I've got vredestein sessantas on) but had to drive through alot of snow and ice at the weekend, as you can imagine the road surface was uneven and plenty of wheel spin.

What I'd like to k ow is: will it have knocked my wheel alignment out or will it be ok? Only had tyres fitted and 4wheel alignment done last week.

You have to hit something fairly hard to knock the allignment out - pot holes can do it if they're big but you would usually know about it as it takes a fair old whack! If they're new tyres and it feels any different I would get it checked to be on the safe side, either that or risk wearing them out a bit quick....

To change geometry/alignment you would need it hit something hard. Otherwise you will just slide but there is no worries in snow. You just loooksing grip what is a great test for your tyres and your skills as well.

Ok. Thanks. Seems ok. No vibrations or pulling to side, will see how it goes!
