Featured Replies

i really wouldnt bother. Although i used plasticoat from a can on my grill surround and its been spot on for 2 years now. Itll look crap and wont last on alloys.Plastidip is really the same stuff and i dont think itll last on alloys due to the revolutions of the wheels and stones/road grime etc.

do you mean plasti-kote ??

totaly different stuff

Plasti-dip is awesome stuff, its even better if you use their primer. Its so easy to use.

Ive done the wheels on my quad, this winter its had alot of abuse from mud, snow, salt and **** from the roads and its still looking good.

wow this stuff looks great - may get some to do my grill.....if i don't like it, i can just peel it off!

^^ yup, but you will like it. Trust me, dont even have to take the chrome off

Mmm. Looks good. What's the colour options?

Hmmm, considering getting a can of this rather than powder coating my alloys

Gotta be worth a shot at £9 to try my grill.

looks damm good.also how many coats did you give it mate ?

Also interested in this - does it work best as a spray or dipped in a big bucket of the stuff?

I used the spray and used the whole can, as first when you start it looks crap, it goes brown and dont look like its going to cover but when it drys it goes a really weird texture and very durable, done it 4ish months ago and its had the jet was on it a few times.

So much easier to use than normal spray paint.

The liquid electrical tape looks interesting. Quite like the look of that for my wheels

Nearly £16 when you add P&P, and thats for a little 311ml spray can, cann't imagine 311ml would be enough for 4 alloys

Two spray cans and some primer, £40 :S

If its one tin for a grill think it'll be 3 or 4 per wheel plus primer!

So much for a nice cheap option to tart up some alloys

Like the idea of using it on my front grill and bump strips

apparently you don't really need the primer.dipyourecar.com I'm sure say it's only 3-4 cans for all alloys.if you check the video of the Jetta the guy doesn't seem to use more than one can for all that trim

dont have to use primer, and 1 can per alloy will be fine i reckon. the primer gives extra adhesive

I picked up a can of this stuff whilst I was in the US a few weeks ago. I removed the front grill (chrome bit) today and put 1 coat of it on it. It needs 3-4 coats so I will have this done tomorrow.

This stuff is cheap in the US, 7 bucks at local hardware store.

Im there again in a couple of weeks, might take a few cans back just in case :)
