Lead times for a Elegance

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've just been with my dad to look at a hatch superb, manual CR170 Elegance spec.

The dealer didn't say how long he'd have to wait, they won't know untill the order has been placed. They then went to say we have a CR140 SE spec due in 3 weeks :thumbdown:http:// .

Is there any way to find out what the lead time actually is?

Thanks,

John

Normally ask the dealer then double it ... seems to be accurate :o

Mine took 26 weeks (quoted 12 - 14 weeks)

Friggin heck. He is a taxi driver so even 12 Weeks is too long, we looked at nearly new ones but with the vat free deal they weren't much cheaper.

Factory lead times for a Superb 170 are currently being estimated at 12-16 weeks.

HOWEVER, this generally varies from each dealership. If the dealer has 'quota' then 12-16 weeks is an achievable target, BUT if they do not have quota for possibly a month or 2 then this will put the build date back.

You could look at pre built Superbs if there are any around.

Quota (in a nutshell) = Factory can build dealer A 1 Superb in Feb but dealer B 0. In March dealer A has no quota but dealer B has 2. If an influx of orders do come, even for example 3 on a Superb hatch it will run over in to the next month, thus having a knock on effect if someone orders in April as the quota may not be there or has already been used for the previous orders.

It's complicated but hopefully this can give you some guidance.

As Gizmo said, give yourself an extra couple of months just in case.

 Makes sense actually.

Did have a quick check and there aren't any stock Superb 170 manuals available only DSG.

Hope the quota explanation helps.

Mitchel Skoda nr Ellesemere Port/Chester have some new superbs in stock. They may be high spec estates though which may not fit the bill. My 12 plate was being built for stock. I ordered it within a few days of it being built.

Search 'Mitchel Skoda' on Google.
