An interesting thread.

 

I don't own a VRs but I note from an earlier post in the thread that the car must use more than 0.5 ltr / 600 miles before Skoda class this as a "problem" which is a bit of a surprise to me. I am probably way off here but assuming an average MPG of 30 miles/gallon, that would mean to  91 ltrs of fuel for every 0.5 oil per 600 miles, or a ratio of 182:1. Modern 2 stroke engines which are designed to "use" oil do so at a ratio of approx 50:1 (even my somewhat low tech chainsaw), whatever Skoda say that's a high usage rate for a 4 stroke engine.

 

Mind you I drive a Greenline with a 1.2 ltr diesel which arguably has the same power as my chainsaw, but it is reliable :yawn:  

Had a CAVE oil burner.
