PROBLEMS:

1) StuvRS -Misfiring, identified as a broken cable to the MAS sensor. No misfiring since cable replaced.

2) Ad Lav - 2011 vRS Estate 4000 miles - Headlight adjuster fault, still not fixed. Misaligned rear stone chip foils. Garage been A1 though

3) wilko251088 - dsg issues 1000miles gear 6 is shafted

4) HBFS - Currently on 33,000 miles Creaking from the rear when cold, high oil consumption fixed 10k miles ago, now in the garage due to misfiring.

5) Hfurbyvrs- march 2011, now 11,000 miles, hatch, no modifications. @7500 miles developed misfire, cured with new spark plugs and software update. Also creaks from dash and suspension, but those aren't major.

Problems:

First day got car hunting really bad and stalling after a pain in the bum and returning back to garage (which involved ferry journey etc) turned out to be pipe going to manifold came loose

6000 miles in 5.5 litres of oil in

Checked oil last saturday 2ml-iah from high level on dip stick

400ish mile later now 5ml or so

rung local dealer arnold clark inverness service dept. Busy, workshop busy. given number not rung back.

Round two on monday gonna try again an if not name an shame to sodka customer services and hope sumit gets done then

sorry Chris, moved you to no problems, if your read the first post, just making noises doesn't cut it. I mean real problems, with reliability and running.... If my cars make a creak (and the glovebox on my vRS creaks) I simply turn the music up :p

lol.. sure, I know alot of people do get bothered by this stuff (the people that would never buy a fiat, even though they are mechanically very good indeed! cutting edge too with multiair ect (they invented commonrail) ) but they will never be rattle free at those prices! I've never taken a car to the garage for a rattle unless I thought it was a mechanical failure...

its like with the mark I vRS, and the massive squeek you'd get from the rear brakes when reversing (all forgotten about now no doubt!) but many people were livivng at the dealers trying to get that fixed! lol... :think: I just ignored it ;)

I wouldnt class it as a reliability issue, thats the thing (and why I created the thread) constant misfiring is for example...

Maybe there should be 3 categories, Real problems, Problems and No Problems. but the No Problems list may not be very long I suspect. lol

Vrs estate 11150 miles two separate periods of misfires cured with new spark plugs; no other problems.

Thankyou for all the reply's... so it seems we have approx 1/3 of new vRS's suffering problems that affected their running, and their owners ability to use the car as intended...

Although mine has been fault free (as I see it, I have delaminating allows and a squeeky glovebox, but what the hell! doesn't take the smile off my face, it would if I had Jonnys car! :o)

we KNOW you are reading skoda UK.... is a new car that 30% of owners suffer problems with acceptable? hhhmmmm

    I strongly agree : don't give bad habits to VAG engineers! The client is always right!

    Just had the squeaking noise from what I thought was rear suspension fixed - its the boot catch :)

    Two Dark Chrome Gigaro's being changed under warranty too for pickling under laquer.

    Lights not been fixed yet but were working on it!

    9) George512 - Fabia II VRS, MArch 2011, 14000 miles, severe misfires (limp mode - video on YouTube). Supposedly cured by dealer replacing spark plugs. Seems better. Clunking DSG (and hesitation engaging gears), rear seats rattling, drivers door rattles, passenger side random rattling, mirror adjustment knob trim broken, climatronic Air Conditioning does not work

    This is an interesting thread! It comes at a time where I am getting more and more fed up with my car's build quality (or lack thereof) by the day. I parted with £14k to get a car that certainly has much, much lower build quality than some previously 8-10 year old cars I've owned before. And this one is only just 1 year old!

    This is maybe a bit of a Classic Briskoda thread.

     

    So how many Members still on the forum have the cars they listed,

    and are they still Problem Free or now any Problem from back then now resolved?

    Worth querrying MK2 Fabia register (pm to each member?) To get a full list?

    Nov 2012 mk2 vrs

    Rear wiper motor burned out, known issue, had to wait unreasonable amount of time for warranty repair and got SUK compensation. Cold air intake snorkel conmection with flexi pipe to the airbox failed, replaced under warranty no problem. Lowering kit installed fab handling but screwed up suspension geometey in the process, in the prpcess of writing a letter to SUK about it.

    CTHE engine was using small amounts of oil bit nothing to warrant engine change. DSG clutch packs are making a racket, increasingly so but box is working flawlessly so nothong to complain about so far.

    Hi,

    Fabia VRS 6500 miles on a 63 plate. 8 months in.

    Had a rear squeak in the wet but resolved now. All good and no other issues.

    2011 VRS estate. 30700 miles. X4 dark chrome Gigaro wheels replaced under warranty due to lacquer corrosion.

    my CAVE was 24k there and problem free... I ran it to 50K and it was STILL problem free... don't know of any reason why it wouldnt run to 100k just the same :)
