Lower Breather (Below Y Pipe)

Featured Replies

...what a git to replace!

Pain the the rear end getting the clips off the standard kit! Once they are off its plain sailing really.

Changed the standard set up for a Creations Motorsport pipe, fits well!

HOWEVER... now i have seen how much crap was sat in the pipe i will soon be investing in an OCC :)

Phil :)

Good move,

Like Bowders, I emptied mine last week its amazing the amount of c***p that it collects.

When the weathers warmer not so much, but if you do short journeys in the winter time then

it really comes into its own.

+1

That's why i fitted OCC. that "Y" pipe was really gummed up on mine prior to fitting a OCC. Short journeys did not clear the vapor

Worst thing when replacing that lower breather pipe was getting the plate off without cracking the dipstick housing! I have a brass non-return valve for that pipe if anyone wants it, karlbar2k had one fitted to his, it stops boost loss through the standard plastic non-return valve if you splice it into the new breather pipe.

agree there, I snapped mine and had to get another one.

Works well too :D I forget how much but I am sure that when I did the check valve when I had all the hoses out I got an extra 2 or 3 PSI.

How much did the creation pipes set you back?

It was £33 delivered, standard plastic pipe from Skoda was £43+vat, made sense to upgrade it for a cheaper price, however now I want an OCC!!

These the ones that they sell on Ebay?

Amazing you can get an aftermarket stronger part for less than standard!

you will still get some crud even with a OCC, I haven't removed any of my boost pipes recently to check, but I did find some in there last year even though I've got an OCC.

Yeah I can understand that, but it won't be anywhere near as much as what's circulating round at the moment!!
