I will soon be one of those dreaded caravanners. I will let you know when we are on our first outing, where we are going then you can all keep out of our way!!!:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Don't worry about it, I find it's always a Peugeot that holds me up not caravaners.... :)

Well if you need any help us caravanners are a helpful bunch! If you see a Candy white Yeti and a Sterling Cruach on your travels say hello!

Towing back from the Edinburgh Caravan Club site yesterday we were held up by a Focus with cushions on the back shelf, the irony was it was badged a Focus Sport. He looked rather ticked when we sailed past him when it was safe to do so!

What have you got?

It's an old Craftsman caravan which cost us a bottle of gin so you can imagine what it's like!!! Actually I think it was quite high spec in it's day.

Craftsman was only in business for a couple of years so you have a rare 'van there, was parked next to one last year at Silverbank Caravan Club site at Banchory.

I'm sure with TLC it will be absolutely fine. My best pal has a 24 year old 'van, that he has had since it was about 4 years old, it looks absolutely fine when its polished up.

Buying bits and bobs for it now and hopefully we will get out come April.

Well if you need any pointers I've been caravanning for a LONG time, nearly 42 years, so please feel free to ask.

Will need to find a caravan site for our first outing that can be reached without busy junctions, narrow or twisty roads, roundabouts, traffic lights, steep hills and the weather has to be perfect!!!!:rofl:

As a Teacher I'm a big believer in active learning ... in other words you need to get yer hands dirty too! :giggle::rofl:

I have never been shy in getting my hands dirty, Iain! :giggle:

I'd even borrow or rent one and come play too! Or maybe just bring my tented palace!

I have just brought a 2003 Hobby 560, extra wide and long, but it does have double bunks for the kids.

My 140 Yeti pulled it fine, however the drop in mpg from 40 (trailer tent) to 28 was not welcome.
