Hmmm my dad(works for vw) reckons that they acidentaly made a few manual polo gtis at the start of the uk production.......wonder how they would cope with more power as the gearbox wouldnt have said limits

Looking at the Mk5 Golf GTI, the manual box didn't have limiters but lunched clutches at anything ocer 300lbft. The DSG guys on the other hand once their dsg map was done were running upto 400lbft and beyond on the std clutch.

Hurdys Ed3_ was running 440hp and 510lbft on the stock box and that car is still going strong.

I reckon thebox coukd take the punishment in the stride. I'm only after another 100lbft at the most so not a huge amount by tuning standards
