Might pop down to AG HQ and take a gander as it's closer than the dealer

Is it bad If I have never used any special Shampoo/Wax/Protection thing whatsoever? I wash the car at the local car cleaner. The final program is supposedly water with liquid wax to protect etc. etc. but It looks to me as plain water! Anyway, I've seen people here are a little mad with shining and protecting (or maybe I'm just too lazy) but I've never used stuff like these and to be honest, my father's 16 year old RAV4 which he never ever took care of himself (except from frequent washing) is still well shining.

Also, are the fully automatic systems with the big brushes harmful to the cars paint? I'm talking for a relatively new one near my place which claims to be very gentle. I'd love to put it in there and have all the job done from the machine, as it's actually the same price as when I'm doing every single program myself, plus less tiring...

Machine car wash and the local hand wash are terrible for your paint work. Check out detailing world website, welcome to a whole new world of car care

Is it me or do they look suspiciously cheap on ebay?! :wonder:

Theyre cheap on eBay because they are that price!!

A dealer will charge you £250 or more inc. commission to apply it

Because you get a top up pack of polish and sealent in the pack, it can't be a one off life time finish. So for a lot less than the £250, I purchased a machine polished and gtechnic p1 polish and a decent sealent, done the job myself and I know a better job was done by myself. Probably in the spring will look to apply sealent again. Resulting in a better job than the dealer for less cash.

I realise this but didn't think they'd be THAT cheap, thing is they're cheaper than a mid-high grade polish/sealant...

Yeah then they will make a complete dogs dinner when it comes to applying the stuff to your car :wonder:

"And all for the reasonable price of £300 to you Sir!!"

Er..I dont think so!

BTW..It is available on eBay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Autoglym-lifeshine-kit-/120859410333?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item1c23c83f9d

Are you sure this is the lifeshine2 kit or just lifeshine? also i belive the price to be more like £65.00 for the kit as im sure your local dealers only charge £300 including the labour to apply it for you when your car is PDI'd

Ok..If I'm wrong.........How much does a kit cost you?

£80?

Whilst we are on the topic...How about telling everyone what you charge your customers..How much commission the salesman is on?

So...Lets see YOUR factual information

It looks as though the initial post was copy & pasted from a AutoGlym sales ad emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

I think you've got issues with you dealer possibly? yet you still went ahead and brought 2 brand new cars from them :wonder: so if you think in any way main dealers rip there customers off well more fool you :giggle: and i am only a Skoda rep for the area i am in so i have no idea what commission salesmen are on because this is down to individual dealers. And the Autoglym cost price to local dealers is £65.00 when it's released in the next couple of weeks the price retail will vairy depending on the region your dealer is in and individual dealer costs but £300 is excessive just to supply a kit don’t ye think? i would say a retail price of about £80.00 possibly i was just passing on information so you could go check at your local dealers (with the part number supplied) and compare prices as you may find it cheaper at your dealer then somewhere like Halfords ect. but its abit annoying when i try to help with new skoda parts and accessories ect you only have bad things to say about skoda and how we rip off customers but then you go buy 2 brand new cars from your local dealer?? give your head a wobble pal :giggle:

I have no issues with my dealer apart from their price for applying this..IMO..Pointless product for me

Why not post the same thread here:

www.detailingworld.co.uk

I think youll find similar questions and statements on there!!

OK...If I was to buy this from the dealer..How much would a typical dealer charge?

Anything from £250 to £350?

So tell me, given that I have experience of the product, is that NOT ripping off customers??

Please explain:I asked you to do that earlier

My wifes previous two cars had it applied..COST £280 for the first car. That was stolen and it was applied via the insurance on the replacement.

What did we get for that?

An Autoglym bag of products and a finish thats no better than a good sealer and wax can produce

Whilst I appreciate that lazy motorists who cant be bothered to wash their car, might like this product..Thats not the issue at all.

The cost of buying this from a dealer IMO is a rip off and a Salesman's commission perk

Good luck with your product

Ay?? This is a part number for the kit to apply yourself so i dont get what your talking about when you say "I have no issues with my dealer apart from their price for applying this" and your quote "Whilst I appreciate that lazy motorists who cant be bothered to wash their car, might like this product" i wouldnt be giving you the skoda part number if the dealer was going to apply it for you would i what would be the point?

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick here theres no commision involved its a part number for you to take to your dealer to get a price for the kit JUST THE KIT NO LABOUR (as ive been saying from the begining) and apply it yourself so all the commision and that your ranting on about doesn't exist... Come on buddy wake up ;)

Ay dont get me wrong salesmen make an absalute killing from commision i am well awear of that but they have nothing to do with me infact what i have done is cut the middle man out (salesmen) and supplied a part number for a great product to get yourself you only have to look at the reviews on this new LIfeshine 2 to see how good it is. only to have me and my team slated by saying we rip people off? and i think thats just dam right rude, but if its just salesmen your talking about then thats fair enuff i am with you on that one.. I got my car at COST price so there was no salesmen involved realy well he wasnt getting any commision from me anyway and i only had to wait 3 months for my car to be built which that would bring me onto another story onto why salemen arn't always truthful about build times it seems. (but thats another story).

I enquired at my dealer and they said they were doing me a great deal at £299 for superguard, full tank of fuel & carpets.

The Elegance comes with carpets, they give half a tank of fuel when you pick the car up and Superguard Premium pack on EB can be found for £100.

I said no thanks.

wot du u payfor,i will like the good care and keep good body work, i havespend a lot, wantto keep good, might be worth but would like to know is it worth £30 of protection over aa £40-£50 other products, thnks
