Hi, I have Greenline 1.4TDI with grey seats and ive found a largish ink stain on rear left seat, from a biro of some sorts.

I dont know if theres anything that will clean it without spreading it, or whether its best to try and get 2nd hand or new seat, if just the foldable part can be replaced (ie not the back as well)

Its very noticeable and tho we dont have plans to trade it in it looks awful!

Can the soft part of seat be removed from the folding frame?

Thanks for any help,

Apparently hair spray can help

You can replace the "foldable" part (I prefer the term bum-holder) or the back separatly, but it's easier to try to clean it out off the car so start with that ;).

yes hair spray worked for me , but first put a biro mark on the seat ( un seen area ) then try the removal , if this works then go for the big one

Thanks for the tip!

How do u wipe it after? circular motion, dab it or what?! how long do u leave the hairspray on it?

any more info would be appreciated!

cheers!

you can buy a ink stain remover from sainsburys so I would think tesco would sell it as well, comes in a small yellow bottle

I would have tried carpet and upholstery cleaner myself, rather then hairspray... Take care not to "Bleach" the seat or you will end up worse off. The bum bit just flips up and you can squeeze the metal holding bars together to remove the thing, quite easily. It may even be easier to remove it just to clean as it is very simple to remove and replace. I do it when loading stuff in the car, rather then just folding them. saves risking damage.
