Not quite - its like HP but you defer capital payments to create the large last payment which you can make to own the car.

3 choices basically - pay the last payment to buy the car (I think of it like buying a used car which you know the history of since new), hand it back or trade in and start again (what they want you to do). On mine I've got £5000 to buy my 3 yr old L&K - should be worth say £8000 so the £3K is your deposit for the next one. £5K would be cheap for a 3yr old L&K.
