Monte Carlo 1.6 TDI CR DPF 105

Featured Replies

Hi, I've been looking at getting my Monte Carlo remapped and every tuning company I've asked has told me that it can't be done at present.

I read an earlier post on here about how difficult it's been to access these new ECU's due to all the manufacturers protection built in.

I was just wondering if you guys have made a start on cracking the ECU that's in the Monte Carlo's yet?

And if you have is there any ETA or when remapping and DPF removal will be possible?

Thanks.

Hi,

As other tuning companies have said, the 1.6CR ECU is not remappable yet. Cracking the encryption is a long process; currently I can not say how long it may be, but hopefully before the year is out! As soon as it is though, we'll be sure to let everybody know!

Sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks.

Glad you answered that I tried having a look this morning but couldn't see any markings on it where it was sitting in the engine bay

And for the tech geeks, protection is 1024bit RSA and Tricore TC17xx-series processor with password protected bootloader and immobilizer data in OTP area :)

Why do you wish you'd done that? I've had my two previous cars remapped while still under warranty, never had a problem
