Revo or Superchips remap?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have decided to remap my 1.8tsi fl octy, i am now confused which map to go for, from where i am only Revo & Superchips maps are available,

which is a better stage1 map with better performance & reliability? confused between them, dunno which will be better, any inputs will be great.

Thanks..

I hear the Shark map is very good as well :)

insane79 lives in India hence Shark is not an option.

Oops, lol

I have had a Bluefin on my wifes VRS and it was really impressive, I have had revo on my other cars in the past and they have been just as good.

I think you'll find the general consensus is Revo if they are the only options.

Revo is always the only option ;-)

On a facelift Octavia II with a tuning-protected ECU?

go Revo, is APR not available over there?

Nope just a 2008 Elegance.... so I suppose not!

no APR here, only REVO & Superchips, i m leaning towards REVO as i see members prefer that compare to super chips, over here no shark maps & shipping the shark remap with the device is getting very costly so these are my only 2 options..Thanks..

Hi insane79, have you checked whether your car''s ECU is tuning-protected or not?  (See the thread below).  My FL Octavia II 1.8TSI was manufactured in October 2010 and has a Bosch MEDC17 ECU which is protected.  Does the same engine fitted to the Octavia in India have that ECU version or an earlier (unprotected) one?

It should be alright as i got the first batch of fl octy2, got mine in mid 2009, so should be fine i guess..

Is it possible to know if my ECU is a protected one with a VCDS scan ?

Unfortunately no. I have VCDS, but I had to visit Shark Performance so that they could use their equipment to check whether the ECU is protected - which it is. The ECU part number is 3T0 907 115G and that has been fitted to the 1.8TSI CDAA EU5 engine from 02.11.2009.

In which case I believe that the Shark STS system should also be an option for tuning your car.

Had revo on a Audi TT and it was fantastic.

Made it the car it should of been when it left the factory!

Andy.

Had superchips bluefin on mondeo st and migrated to octavia vrs when i changed cars so had it for 4yrs never missed a beat on either car

If your car is 2009 then our STS will work for you  See http://www.sharkperformance.co.uk/sts.asp for details

Right answer.

i can vouch for shark (all be it on a mk1) My map has changed my car so much i love it. as far as im aware shark can provide the sts system which can go anywhere in the world and enable the customer to upload the map themselves. (correct me if i miss understood that)

I have had revo in the past and i found it to be quite sergey in comparison to the shark. this was about 4 years ago tho.
