update to steering wheel judder II

Featured Replies

Hi all,

this is a further update to the steering wheel judder problem.

The dealership has undertaken the following with no results.

1) All alloys changed again

2) Rear suspension linkage changed

3) Trials taken after changing the front axle ,first the left and then the right axle

4) TIRES BALANCED AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Now the only thing remaining is to change the brake discs as one on the forum has suggested. Now at my wits end  .The car has been in the dealership for 3 days and I don't know how much longer this will take .

I have some judder which kicks in at just over 80. It's especially noticeable on gentle left hand bends for some reason. I have a set of new discs and pads ready to be fitted in the next few weeks. Fingers crossed it does the trick.

If it doesn't work check front suspension bushes?

I have exactly the same problem, although my judder is only when I'm accelerating hard from 70-90 mph after which it is rocksteady. I have also had new front discs and pads, not because I thought it would cure the problem, they needed changing anyway !

Am now thinking if driveshafts are the problem ?

Now they suspect the alloys. This is because two of the wheels need almost 90 grams balance weights. There is no obvious deformity or run out in the wheels>any ideas?
