How to Convert WMA Files to MP3 Format.

Featured Replies

Morning All,

As per the title. I want to tranfer music from my laptop onto an SD card to play on the Bolero, unfortunatley some of the files are in the WMV format and are therefore unplayable via the Bolera. Can you suggest a reliable (and preferably free!!) converter?

Many thanks,

Fin

"Switch sound file converter" is a free programme you can download and convert your files from one format to another. There are of course lots of others which will do the same job and you may find you already have this facility on any CD burning programme already on your computer eg Nero burning software.

If you still have the CDs you can rip them into mp3 format using Windows Media Player, Nero also has a file conversion suite and some other media player or CD burning suites, so it is worth having a look through what you already have installed before adding new programs.

I used to use a freebie called dbpoweramp to convert, and mp3gain if I needed to change the default sound level

Whatever you use to do the conversion, the sound quality of the converted file will be inferior to that of the original.

Only recommended the Sony software as it avoids duplication of files, creates playlists the bolero supports and puts the songs into artist then album sub folders.

Saved me a shed load of hassle for my iTunes lossless collection without filling my hard disk up with lower quality versions
