Omg what a difference to car! Has another lease of life when pushing past 5.5k! Seams to roar and inlet manifold has webt from being too hot to touch to being ice cold after a hammering!

All on a standard vrs too! Knew i was right :) awesome mod

Trip to rtech booked for next wednesday

Reviews seem good and the price beats anyone else!

So im getting a stage1 custom map so well see what the old girl makes, guy at rtech was amazed it had only done 66k miles :)

Amazed! I only have 71 and that a 03 lol.

The majority looking on autotrader etc have over 100k :)

Red coil packs and ecs hold down clamps

Temporary movement of vac box until i do sai removal etc

Will this be okay?

Yeah that'd be fine as long as its held secure. See if you can get the SAI and N249 removed before the remap then R-tech should be able to map out any faults thrown up by their removal.

Its secure m6 bolt from the batt tray right through it! Can i get it mapped out then remove it?

I believe i need the forge blanking plate?

Yeah you'll need the blanking plate. You could just unplug the multiplugs to the N249, N112 and secondary air pump and ask R-tech to map them out if you don't have time to remove everything before the remap. Rob Clubleys site has got the best guide for it when you do get round to doing it.

Some very quick moving Octavia builds on here at the moment!

Theres a few more but not in public domain ;-) 2 i know if pushing the boundries big time and neither are mine lol

Hint 2.0tfsi + k04 ;-)

 *LIKE

Remap day!

500 miles later and a round trip to r-tech the octy is mapped

Standard figures made 192bhp with 178lb-ft torque (guess the fmic helped)

Remapped it made 210bhp with 249lb-ft torque....

(i think - will upload maps soon)

All i can say is omg what a difference! Mpg is up on the trip from 33 to 36!

And power is immense! Inlet temps never rose above 36 celcius and it was on the rr about 10 runs, they had a car there the day before with a eurojet smic and it peaked at 96 celcius lol! POS

Glad you are happy Jase.

What's next?

Erm kw v1's are next with a sensible drop.

Then i'll leave it there i think as thats all my plans were from the start :)

Dont want to get carried away! Time to save some cash :)

well here's the graph, now im no expert but would i be right in thinking changing around 5k rpm would be quickest?

I would have said so, it's where the power starts to tail off, and I'm guessing that changing up at 5000 would put you around 3500-4000 in the next gear up, so you're then coming up through peak torque territory again. Obviously I'm not a petrol driver though :)

yes basically when giving it some i want to drop smack bang down to 4k, so i'll have to experiment to see what rpm that will require me to change, possibly near 5k

also looking over it, it seems fairly conservative power guestimate at the fly

wheel power mapped is 191bhp yet fly figure is down as 210bhp....? (only 20bhp drop through transmission)

where as standard it says 154bhp wheel figure and 182 fly figure which seem a more normal ratio? (28bhp standard drop)

for example ive just looked at another graph and its quoting 176 atw and 217atf??

surely if mines measured 191atw it should be a bit higher than 210atf?

anyways it goes like stink!

Depends on what calculation the RR applies for transmission losses. If you're that bothered about it do a run at another rolling road and take an average of the two. It's how it feels to drive that's the important thing.

And yep you want to leave it in gear a lot longer than you would a diesel  get it out of first and second quickly though or it'll be wheelspin city.

okay im going to change at just over 5k and see where it gets me....

from having a teg engined ek9 with a rev limit of 9.5k i am stuck in my old ways of flat out in every gear

Boost guage has arrived after a 6 week wait! Impressed with it but not with delays

Tomorrow nights job!

And to all those who say you need the vent for demisting ive never opened any of the vents ever to demist :)

whooohooo its arrived!

Yes how AWESOME it is too

Yes how AWESOME it is too

hahahaa... i would take 6 weeks to reply to that but it think the thread may of moved on by then! Glad you got there in the end mate.
