Apex lowering springs

Has anyone fitted apex lowering springs? Are they any good or just avoid them? What kind of drop do they offer as i dont want to go much more than 25mm.

Apex lowering springs are a decent enough bit of kit for what they cost.

They do lower the car by 35-40mm though so sounds like they're not what you're looking for. :thumbup:

You want eibach or h&r if u want to use oe dampers

Eibach are 25mm drop.

I've got the 25mm drop Eibach springs on mine, and they're fine. The setup is a little under-damped, as you'd expect keeping the OEM dampers, but a big improvement over standard, and perfectly acceptable.

I've used Apex Springs before on a previous Fabia.

Very bouncy on OE dampers.

I wouldn't buy again, but for the price, they serve their purpose.

Cheers for the replies, think ill just go for the eibachs, cant drop anymore than 25 and i dont want a crap ride.

If your getting springs whilst retaining the stock shocks, you need to look at the rebound rate of the shocks, and pick suitable ones according to the rates. I'd go for ones that are closest to stock.

You'll often find the lower you go the further they are away from the rebound rate and thus a bouncy crashy feel, which is why coilovers/matched shocks are better. Not to say you can't improve things with springs though to an extent. Sometimes when you lower too much on springs you get a worse ride and handling as above and due to lowering so much you can't get the geometry in spec (stretched toe arms etc).

Obviously lowering centre of gravity is one of the best things to improves handling/feel.

I would completely agree with this analysis, I fitted Eibachs on mine after a standard spring broke and the ride is unchanged, handling and grip is much better, the only downside is the rebound damping on OE dampers but on most counts it is a definite improvement.

As mentioned the Eibach are a very good option for the VRS.

What about H&R springs? I know they're a 30mm drop, but are they as good as the Eibachs? I'm trying to decide between these two brands!

The H&R are a little stiffer then the Eibach but still seem to work well with the standard dampers and also drop that little bit extra.
