Yes

Along with the Green

Dougall, if you want some pics today I can supply them. Got mine last Saturday, Race Blue, new seats with grey Alcantara and red stitching, sun roof, Xenons, rear sensors and a few other extras. Also got a 25mm birth mark in the bonnet that I missed and dealer missed, but was pointed out to dealer within 3 hrs of collecting the car. Only noticable at certain angles, but once you see it, you never forget. It is in the laquer and there is a black speck in the centre of the mark in the base coat. So have formally rejected the car and now the fun starts. Dealer has been very good and so has Skoda, but the discussions have only just started. If anyone wants to see then, what about a spot the blemish competition. :(

This is starting to seem quiet common on new vrs,s bad paint jobs, for some reason I think the paint quality is better on pre face lift although they still can have thin paint in spots.

Any picture of ur blemish or could u describe it better maybe?

you've rejected a car because of a one inch mark on the bonnet? Or you could just get a pro bodyshop to fix it?

Its not exactly the end of the world. If you insist on a new car you are going to have a world of stress and also the wait for a new car and what's to say there won't be something wrong with that, better the devil you know and all that.

Before xmas I had my front bumper resprayed under warranty due to peeling paint. You wouldn't know its been done and I'm seriously fussy over paint but would never reject a car over it as it can always be 100% fixed perfectly with the right bodyshop.

Pics are good.............please share as a new vRS is always nice to look at

Saw ur car today whilst I was in waiting on a new tyre being fitted.

Interior is smart and nice spec u have went for. Enjoy the drive home tommorrow.

In reply to JRW. I am not rejecting the car just because it has a 1" dark patch in the bonnet, if I accept a re-paint and the colour is not quite the same and it has to be re-painted again, at what point do I give in and say ok, I will live with the mis match.Looking at the bottom of your post yours is Corrida Red which can be an easier colour to match. I assume that you never give any new product the once over especially one that costs 20k+ because you can always get it repainted. There is no such thing as 100% paint match in a repaint because temperature, humidity, and angle of spraying all affect the finish, and that does not factor in the various paint manufacturers. If the problem was a wheel, seat or something easily replaced then I have no problem. Also, if the factory has a rogue paint robot, or the paint is substandard or whatever is affecting the finish, the more people reject the cars rather than accept a less than 100% repair the better. It would soon sharpen up their act.You mentioned that you had the bumper re-painted because it was peeling, not really a sign of a quality paint job then! For the record, in my younger days I painted cars, so I think I have a little more knowledge than the average driver.

woah, i am not having a go. You stated that you are rejecting it further up? If it isn't for the paint defect then what is it for?

For the record as i said, i am very anal about my car and in particular the paint work hence why it has had the bumper sprayed for peeling paint which was about a 1cm square that had peeled. The plastics of the car are sprayed seperately to the car body and at the time mine was made a few bumper paint defects are showing up hence no issue having it done under warranty.

As for paint match, how is Red any easier to match than blue? You can also get a 100% match if you go to a decent bodyshop like it did. They have won awards from all over and probably goes some way to explaining why the bill to Skoda was £400 and the match and finish is perfect. If it wasn't it would have gone back......as I have done many times in the past with my old Polo and Bora did with various bodywork warranty issues which were tried to be done and failed in their own 'vw approved' bodyshops. Took it to this one which i now use and a perfect job was done first time.

For the record, if you paid 20k+, you paid too much :wonder:

I would be tempted to reject the car too, but knowing whats goes on at the docks with cars and the damage that is caused by the ship, the people loading/unloading.

the percentage of cars that are repaired before they even hit the dealers are scarey.

Is it scary? What is the percentage?

Truce....

I agree that it has the potential to become a real dogs dinner, but I personally didn't want to accept the car. This is a new car that had delivery miles only and I will not accept a re-spray of the bonnet, why should I. There is always a potential mismatch with any paint no matter who does the re-work. Every one has their own idea of quality, and what suits one may not suit another. On the same subject, my daughter in law worked for a car company based in Europe that had paint quality issues and they were pushed out hoping that the customer didn't notice. And for the record: I was quoting the value of the car, not the purchase price.

Did you reject it then?

What was the dealers response? New car being ordered for you?

Hi All,

Feels like a long while now but picking up my new car on Thursday. It will be the first time I've got a new car on the first day of registration so I'll have a '12' plate.

I've gone for a vRS CR Estate in race blue and it's got the new black/red alacantara interior with quite a few options.

Will post pics and some thoughts when I can, it will be getting 200 miles straight on the clock as I need to drive it up to North Scotland so will get a decent run in day 1.

Do cars need 'run in' these days before giving it a bit of a push?

Dougall

They don't have the new skoda badge, or my week 6 car doesn't anyway. Thursday for me too (if the dvla come up trumps with my reg), I've gone for a steel grey hatch... Pleasantly surprised by the colour, I've never seen one in a vRS before.

Well guy's

Any pics of the alcantara / red interior and the Steel Grey exterior?

Interior pics are in the link posted by rs939

Here's the steel grey vrs, I'll try to get around to getting some of the interior later! No clue how to post the picture, here's a link.

Here you go

Looks nice

Hi All

I got my new VRS on Thursday as well, I went for DSG Diesel in Black Magic,

Love the car Love the DSG box.

But as I will be living in Germay I need to Change the Rear Fog Lighe to the other side, does anyone know the code to swap the fogs over or to have both on?

Can't they swap the bonnet with another car? I had the same issue when I got my Mazda6 new, a few dark specs and sort of fish eyes in the paint. They swapped the bonnet with another one in the showroom all sorted. I am totally OCD so would reject, you have every right too, but hopefully they can swap the bonnet.
