Considering a Monte Carlo

Featured Replies

My 2010 Fabia Sport is due for its 2nd year service this month. After that, I am considering negotiating with the local dealer for a Monte Carlo. By the time a new Monte arrives my Sport will be well into its 3rd year I guess. However, not sure which one to get - either the 1.2 TSI 86PS or the 1.2 TSI 105PS. Now I am retired the slower, therefore cheaper model looks appealing (as does the lower insurance rating - 9E). What can I expect from a Corrida Red 1.6 Fabia Sport on px?

I have had red cars now for some time. What do you think of the anthracite grey metallic? Has anyone got one?

Any comments greatly appreciated.

Saw a metallic grey Monte Carlo the other day. Looked good and quite 'stealthy'/subtle.

I like the grey too... seen a couple :)

as for the engines, the 105 is an absolute cracker! but if you don't need the speed, you may as well save yourself some money and go for the cheaper one ;)

We got a white one on the forecourt and with the black it looks awesome.

The anthracite grey looks good on the monte carlo as for the 1.2 TSI both the 86 BHP and 105 BHP are good if you do not when the performance then the 1.2 86 BHP is you best bet

I can only speak as a silver 105 diesel owner, but I love mine

I've got an 86 all black Monte which is good fun, not as much as a vRS but i knew that when i bought it. this is the second car and is therefore used by 19 year old son when he is home from Uni. Hence the 86 to keep the insurance down.

It wont win any traffic light grand prixs, but it is not exactly a sloth either. Compared to the supposedly equally powered Corsa it has just replaced its like a rocket ship. Yes i double check distances when pulling out to over take (Mways and A roads) but all in all i think itis quite a feisty little bruiser. That matched with the handling the same as the vRS it gives a good drive round the lanes. In someways i think it is better than the vRS as you can use all of its power. Whereas with the vRS you have to be careful not to let it get to carried away.

Oh and no DSG. Don't get me wrong i have had no issues with the DSG but i just prefer a manual g/box.

My local dealer has a red one in diesel form iirc looks smart :)

I find with gray and silver cars when you get stone chips no matter what you do its so hard to touch them up and no matter what you do you can still see them, have a red fabia and just P/x my white Vrs and best two colours I have found for not showing up chips after treating, now have a grey car and chips still show after touch up.(can look worse)so for me in the future I will stick to red and white.

Hi, they are the standard alloys in the Norwegian spec monte and yes, they have a silver round the rim. The 17'' are extra :(

Can I ask what this is based on?

Yeah, I'd say it would be less than that. Mine (105TDi Monte in Anthracite) was ordered end of Jan, built this week, and should be arriving at the dealers for collection in 2-3 weeks, making the overall time less than 2 months! Could just be lucky though...

may be sooner as you're on the continent anyway but generally tends to be a bit of a wait although some are lucky

Not a great fan of yellow but I see one the other day, looked quite good in the flesh.

Local dealer has a yellow with black roof monte that the wife took a liking to. But as i'll have to drive it until her achilles heals, i said no way and went for an all black one instead.

I also didn't like the fact that she was already calling it bumble bee.

go for the diesel 105

Mine was ordered 15th Feb so i'm only a few weeks behind, not heard anything about a build week yet though....
