Is this a Fault?

Featured Replies

If it is a fault its pretty bizzare. I have a new(54) Vrs. When I alter the right mirror, the left also moves.

When I do the left, the right stays still. Its a bit like rubics mirror!

Does anyone elses do this?

Yes my furbie does it. No it's not a fault, all the range do it.

It's a feature so you can lower both mirrors for reversing etc.. Some switches now show L an L+R, I know Josh's does.

My Fabia shows an L and L+R, but I find it a pain. I noticed some of the courtesy cars I've had, have just L and R which seems much more logical, but that's probably because that's how all my previous cars have worked :D

TADTS ;)

It's a feature - supposed to make it easier to lower the mirrors for reversing, or something. The switch on my (2001) Octavia is actually labelled L, L-R, and (symbol for heated mirrors)

It's part of the "convenience pack". Confused the hell out of me for a few days until I realised it was supposed to happen :D

Bizarrely my 05 Octy only has L, R and the symbol for heated mirrors. No L+R.

For info this feature disappeared on the facelift Fabias - mine just does L and R as you'd expect from a mirror control

My 05 Octy only has the L & R too plus the heater icon in the middle

Hmmm, cheers for that. Great idea, except when I move the mirror to the left! :D

This thread has saved me an embaressing trip to the dealer to replace my 'faulty' switch
