I thought shorter drop links but are top mounts a must and if so what ones?

I got normal drop links but will get shorter ones eventually. Erm I dunno I didn't get top mounts as they weren't long changed. Just standard ones from gsf

You don't need shorter droplinks, in fact short links cause rubbing.

Just get top mounts and bearing :) I also got Ibiza Cupra rear bump stops but this isn't a must as you can just cut your old one down a little.

have you got ap's? I got one person saying he needs them and one saying no now haha. And are the top mounts really necessary as they are abit pricey. it says on the right up that it comes with the correct bump stops but we will soon find out.

I fitted aps this wknd lol. Got standard drop links and everythings fine. Never thought to cut down rear bump stops as back sits a little high. Buggery

Bumpstops included for the front only. I have weitec which are the same as AP.

Chances are your top mounts and bearings are past it and to save doing a job twice its worth doing the job right.

Ok cheers guys thats cleared it up abit. so no drop links needed and top mounts and bearings recomended. i will just cut my rears for now i think. should i cut off basiclly how ever much im going to lower it? Also how low are you 2 running on the coilovers?

Rear all the way down -65mm and the fronts are 12 thread from the bottom. Cut the rear bump stops to be 7cm tall thats how tall the cupra ones are.

is that with the rear adjusters still in place? Have you got a pic? Cheers for the bump stop info.

janno just seen yours and looks great with everything you have done.

Yeah I left the adjusters in as I dont want "epic" low.

That pic looks spot on. cant wait for them to arrive now. cheers for all the info

I had Weitecs fitted last February. My mechanic didn't fit anything else except the new coillies. Just over a year on and about 15000 miles later (10000 of which are motorway) and everything seems fine:) touch wood it stays that way:)

Drop links will depend on how low you want to go.

Damian @ DPM Performance

Not with ap and weitec coilovers. As above mine is all the way down on the rear and the front to match... no issues.

Cheers for the links softscoop. yes i will be going about the same as huxley as looks just the height i wanted

If you're going all the way down, probably best getting bump stops from Ibiza Cupra instead. They're much shorter.

You'll have to get them from a dealer though, as AVS don't sell them.

2x front top mounts and bearings purchased from gmf and my coilovers are waiting at parcel force to collect tomorrow. work begins at 1300 hours friday wish me luck

Good luck mate

You will need some flexi hose to go on the front springs to stop them clanging together at low speeds. Solved under warranty by AP via G-Werkes. All fine now - vRSROB who bought my old MK1 vRS says its still fine so :)

Hmmmm, that could be the cause of my clonking.

Any more details on what needs to be covered?

The front springs, simple as that!

If you look under the car at the front springs you'll notice they touch. When at high speed there is no noise but at low speeds and maneuvering speeds they clonk like geese. Very annoying, G-Werkes cured it for me with KW supplied hosing.
