Post 2007 fabia stereo fitting

Featured Replies

Just about to take ownership of a 2005 fabia. Would really like to swap the stereo for something that I can connect my phone to preferably with a stock look. Question is will the stereos from a post 2007 fit my older fabia, they are clearly double din but they also look slightly rounded so would they sit nicely with a double din kit/facia? I've been looking at the bolero system. Anyone tried fitted one? Is all the phone gear built in the head unit or would I need to add loads more bits in addition to the stereo?

All help appreciated!

The Dash between the Post 2007 and your upcoming 2005 are totally incompatible. Neither the Bolero or Columbus will fit the early Fabia dash. Even if they did, you'll have the problem that the MK1 does not have full canbus which is required by both these headunits.

You can get a standard double din headunit to fit the dash, simply add the facia plate from a dealer and your sorted. You don't need the autoleads facia kit, its way more expensive than the official skoda one.

Brill thanks for the info, may be a daft question but is the official double din facia just for skoda (well vag) double din units or is it the best option for aftermarket units too? Any idea on a ball park price?
