I know this will just noise you up :giggle: .......... but why buy them if that is the case ?

Because they just look even in the daytime 10 times better!!

I love xenons!

Hey imagine i fitted hid's into halogens.... So stop it i may cry

ok pal :) btw if you need a service manual just pm me and i'll help you out

Ive found a wiring diagram, the kufatech looms req 2 extra wires which ill be able to do to allow headlight adj.

Just wondering if the xenon will stay on with full beam, guess ill just have to find out :)

Don`t get me wrong I prefer the look of them to the standard lights. Its just the light output I am not happy with, so I better crack on and order some new bulbs I might be surprised.

yh the price of the bulbs are a joke but if u go on ebay germany and type in d2s OSRAM XENARC u get them so much cheaper... i brought some bosh ones there a red burnner and meant to be brighter there called cool blue and are rated at 6000k and are nice on dark roads they cost me 100 for the pair from germany + whatever import charges was....

but they are really bright when the headlamp is clean.....

jase plesase let me no how u get on with this thru pm as i have tried to sort this buy wiring in my old looms from old headlights with fail.....

as the wiring in the housing of the xenons are much more complicated cause theres loads of wire that do f**k all.. but ill be interested in how u achive the motors to work...

Hi, how'd you get on big jase? Just bought OEM well DEPO xenon lights ( shells no bulbs ) from ace parts on e bay still can't understand why the o/s one is £22 and the n/s is £ 50 ish WTF?

Anyhoo my thoughts are to buy hid kits with ballasts that I see on.eBay around the £20 to.£ 50 mark which can be bought with the h4 fittment and looms for.a.plug n.play (almost) fit. This way I'm thinking I can use the original loom/ connections as much as possible.

Does this seem plausible or is it easy enough to fit OEM bulbs and ballasts to my halogen loom?

I just used the kufatec loom to plug it in

My xenon units came with ballasts and bulbs so was just a case of swapping it over, havent looked into wiring alterations just yet! Using them how they are and im still alive so i may consider a bit of wiring once i become dead :o

Did ya get the high beams to stay on with the dipped xenons?? And have u got full control of the headlight adjusters?? See I done my xenons seperate the lights where just shells when I got them then I got everything from eBay in Germany like starters and ballasts just got wiring loom and plastic bcks from Skoda!! But that's how mine have stayed

No not done any of that yet but i have done some homework and it is possible.... Means running an extra wire from healight stalk to headlight switch (main beam stays on)

And internal wiring on the headlamp for height adj (but tbh this doesnt bother me too much)

The plug on the xenon lamp is fifferent to the halogen. However, it only clips into the back of the lamp so you can swap it for the one from your halogens. You will need to do some rewiring inside the lamp though.

The difficulty is the levelling motor. Xenon motor has 4 wires, halogen only 3. I made up new mounts inside the lamp and used my original halogen lamp motors instead.

Do you have any pics of how the new mounts were made up at all?, I am in the process of doing this and need to get a solution for this.

Sorry, I didn't take any photos when I did this. I made up a flat aluminium plate that mounted on the screw holes for the ignitor inside the lamp and bolted halogen leveling motor to the back of this. I used the black arm that makes up the socket for the ball on the motor from the halogen lamp too and and screwed this on to the support frame for the reflectors inside the xenon lamp.

Hope this helps.

Is it possible to do those processes with the lens in place or do I have to split the lens from the backing?. Also, do you have to take measurements of the motor's full extension in a halogen lamp when connected to the adjuster switch, so that you keep the adjuster incremental drops the same in the xenon housing?.

Thanks for the help, really appreciate it.

Phil.

Everything is done from the back of the lamp. I didn't take the lens off.

I took the motor off in it's zero position and mounted the black arm from the halogen lamp a similar distance from the bottom of the lamp in the xenon housing.

Thanks so much, will try this at weekend.

I've got 2x o/ side ones on ebay just now, unused, still boxed. Going cheap. No bulbs just back plate with internal looms.
