Front Brake Carrier Bolt Part Number

Featured Replies

I was driving home tonight and after dropping my mate off I noticed a grinding sound when braking, it became more evident on the short journey home, upon checking the passenger side wheel where the sound was coming from everything looked okay, jacked the car up and noticed a ring of green paint on the alloy, looked at the back of the wheel hub and the lower carrier bolt was missing! Pretty sure it hasn't sheared so should just be a replacement job so can anyone provide me with a part number for this bolt please. I definately but retainer on the bolts when fitting the brakes so bit confused how this could have happened, hopefully have an answer tomorrow.

Spoke to Skoda and they don't have any bolts in stock, plan is to visit the scrappies after work, I'm assuming the hub found on the vRS will be fairly common across the various VAG platforms?

I'm not exactly sure whst bolt you mean, maybe post a pic?

Try a company called Big Red based in Worcester.

Its one of the 2 17mm bolts that bolt the brake carrier to the wheel hub, the brake caliper is then bolted onto the carrier.

The only photo I could find of the brake carrier is this one;

So as I said its one of the 2 bolts that are used to bolt this to the wheel hub.
