My replacement company car, a manual 170 tdi hatch in Race Blue arrives on Friday.

The dealer is willing to set the car up as long as I tell him what I want.

I have paid for a few extra bits, but sadly not Maxidot (didnt get on here quick enough to find out what it does). Therefore some items are out of my reach.

My (short) list currently includes:

Enable single press unlocking

Deactivate alarm bleep on locking/unlocking

I have read on here about a teardrop wipe by the rear wipers - does that exist?

The rear wiper automatically turns on when reverse gear is selected and the front wipers are on.

This was turned on from the factory on my vRS.

Yes it does (and there's also one for the front wipers) but you may need someone with VCDS to sort that out.

Really? Is it not easier to just wear a seat belt? Mine's not bothered me at all in a year of ownership.

Again, I don't think the cornering fogs can be done without VCDS Chris.

One I forgot about:- after driving, all doors unlock when the key is removed.

how did you turn this off ?

You can code it out..... Alternatively just un-plug the connector underneath the carpet which makes it open circuit exactly the same as when you put the seatbelt in..

This is part of the anti hi-jack setting. If they are set to lock at 5mph then they'll also unlock when you remove the key.

If you have CH/LH lights / rain sensor, you can set the fogs to come on rather than your headlights. I prefer it this way, as it lights up the ground better around the front of the vehicle.

On my vRS i can set them independently. But the "unlocking" works only if the doors are auto-locked, not if you lock them with the button.

Wiper teardrop function it they can do it.

I wont be going for cornering fogs, dont like them.

I also agree that the seat belt warning is there for a reason and will leave it that way.
