Service time soon - and some TLC!

Featured Replies

As per title guys, service is due soon and I'd like to include some other little jobs that would not normally be done as part of it...

Open to suggestions, not made of money so no full suspension swap over!!

Thinking along the lines of throttle body clean etc

Please feel free to make recomendations, any links to guides etc would be very much appreciated...

Thanks in advance

Oil pick up pipe. Mine was blocking up at 65k.

clean out scuttle drains and behind the arch liners, get an active charcoal pollen filter

Gearbox oil change, doing mine soon

Oil pick up, mine was ~35% blocked at 75k miles, depends a lot from car to car but definitely worth it compared to what can happen if it gets blocked.

Gearbox oil, i changed mine and it was a big difference.

Brake fluid, i needs changing every 2 years, you can upgrade to something better.

Spark plugs ??

What would I clean them with?

Sorry if that sounds dim!!!

Carb cleaner. Take the intercooler right off and clean it with Carb cleaner then flush it through with water, leave it overnight to dry then refit. I did a guide somewhere in the general guides section

Well made a start today (well my mobile mechanic mate did - I aint got a clue!!)

Full service and back on with the long life oil

Gearbox oil - made a huge difference

Throttle body clean - hose side clean as a whistle, other side just slightly dirty but all good now

Oil pick up pipe - again not really dirty but replaced

Dog bone mount bush - couldnt do it - one bolt seized solid so left it as would be well stuck if sheared - potentialy cross threaded

DV replaced with a low mileage second hand one

N75 Race Valve

Pollen filter done too

Other bits to follow...
