Minor scratch

Featured Replies

Was washing the car this afternoon, giving it a good go over to get rid of the road grime and bird stuff it has picked up this week and found a nice little scratch on the drivers door. Clearly the result of someone opening their door into mine, probably carefully but has rested against it and left a couple of light small scratches!!

There is no dent and it is small but shows up nicely on the black paint, especially as I know it is there now. Is there a particular product to use to attempt to polish it out?

I have used Quixx Scratch Repair on both black and silver cars (Skoda & Peugeot) with great effect as long as it is only the lacquer that is scratched.

It's also available on the bay for a bit less if that's your thing.

Run your finger nail over the scratch, if it catches then its going to be a body shop job. If not, and its just very light marking on the clearcoat then Meguiars Ultimate compound and a foam applicator pad is a good starting point in my experience if you don't have access to polishing machines.

I know the feeling. Found someone else has crashed into the back of my Polo - I've only just finished tidying it from the last time. :@

G-Technic P1 on a Foam applicator pad, magic

Use a felt tip pen to colour it in.
