vrs fuel

Featured Replies

hi have just moved up to a vrs mk1 from a 1,6i wanted to ask if its ok to run it on normal unleaded or does it need the expensive stuff and wow what a car they are

They run better, and give better MPG on the good stuff, so the actual additional cost is nothing :)

thanks do you use additives likw redex ?

It tells you on the filler flap.

When mine was standard I ran it on normal fuel, now I only run it on v power.

Mine runs bad on normal fuel now since the map.

Around service time I'll use Forte injector cleaner, but nothing regular.

mine always gets Tesco Momentum 99

Tesco momentum is bad stuff. when i had revolving map my car caused problems with the timing after switching to v power it all got sorted.

I run mine on normal unleaded, I have tried v power and tesco 99 and in my case It doesn't make a difference. Not sayin that its the same with everyone just in my case

if its mapped then run vpower if not see what you feel between the 2

Tesco momentum is bad stuff

harsh!

Momentum 99 has always done the trick for mine, also considerably cheaper than the likes of Vpower

and I usually see a couple of MPG over standard Tesco unleaded.

One thing I would say is that in extreme circumstances I have used Asda and Morrison's regular unleaded and the fuel economy was awful

my car was running tesco 99 when it was remaped so that's what I always use! Top fuel! :)

I find mine runs better on v power than normal go go juice

I used to run mine on either Tesco 99 or VPower, or ARAL 102 ron at the Ring.

I did put a tankful of regular stuff from a Jet garage in once for a day trip to France and once I'd run the tank dry and put some 99 ron in it actually felt like a different car, so much quicker! So must have been running like a dog on the 95 ron stuff.

I always put Esso Super (is that what it's called now?) or BP ultimate, the queue in Tescos is always too big! lol
