Very proud of my new Octavia

Featured Replies

I collected my new Octavia 2.0 TDi with 17" alloys and sports suspension 2 weeks ago. I have finaly got around to appying a coat of diamondbrite stage 1 and 2 and I have taken a couple of pictures.

I was debating wheather or not to apply the diamondbrite as I have bought some zymol wax but tonight I gave in and applied the kit. The results are amazing. The kit has removed some minor scrathes I found on the bonnet and roof (I did not expect the scratches to dissapear so I was delighted). The results are very very impresive. I recommend the kit if you have not dabbled with diamondbrite.

The car is fantastic. An amazing drive, tons of space for all the family and looks like a million dollars. I cannot recommend the new Octavia enough.

Looks FAB so so tempted to order one , were you concerned about putting on the diamondbright on a brand New car yourself , was it easy to apply , how long to do .

johnmb, the diamondbrite application was very easy. I bought a spray bottle from the local diy shop and lightly sprayed on stage 1. Left the car for 10 minutes to allow stage 1 to become dull then applied stage 2 with a microfibre cloth. I waited another 15 minutes and then went over the whole car with a clean microfibre cloth.

The whole thing took me about 90 minutes from start to finish including a wash with zymol auto bath and a quick dry.

Last week I spent about 3 hours waxing the car and it was alot harder work than applying the diamondbrite kit. A great way to spend the evening.

Hi there

I'm about to take delivery of a new Octy 2 hopefully this Friday. I've gone the supagard route (via ebay of course).

I was wondering if you did anything to strip back the wax etc on the paintwork before putting on the diamondbrite. I'm guessing I'll have to do something similar before putting on the supagard.

BTW: Did you get return to invoice GAP insurance - dealer tried to flog it to me but I found a good deal from Hiatchi (

Hi carrdarius. The week I picked up the car I used a zymol product called hd cleanse on the car which is supposed to remove older wax etc. I do not think the dealer had done anything in the way of waxing so the hd cleanse did not have much work to do.

I put on a coat of wax after using the cleanser and the car looked fantastic. I was going to stop there but a neighbour brought around the diamondbrite kit and said I should try it. He puts it on cars for a living and said to put it straight on the car after a wash. The layer of wax I put on the car previously justs adds anothr layer of protection.

I had already sorted out insurance with my current insurer. I got a great deal. We now have 2 cars and the insurance company transfered my no claims bonus to the new Octy as well as the old 106. GAP would have worked out more expensive so I never considered it.

Have fun when you pick the car up.
