Yeti = Engine cut out/management fault ?

Featured Replies

Has anyone had any engine management problems ? My Yeti (10 - 25K) brokedown whilst being driven yesterday. Warranty breakdown technician stated plug 3 was faulty but after changing still not working. Car now at dealers who said they had the same diagnostic result ! Ordering a new 'cell' ? Whatever that is , any clues as to likely outcome. First problem in 2 years of enjoyable ownership but this has dented my confidence in first purchase of a Skoda.

There's been one or two issues with the 1.2TSI, particularly early production versions, effecting sensors, ignition systems and the turbo (waste gate actuator).

Hopefully they will get to the bottom of your Monsters problem quickly, as Skoda Tech should now be familiar with the issues.

Oh where also running an early'ish TSI 85 Fabia, so keeping our fingers crossed.

Regards,

Hi

Fault fixed. Service sheet quote:

Turbo shim - recall carried out. Problems known about - funny not mentioned to me the week before by Skoda dealer when brake fluid was changed !!!!!!

Engine Control Unit - update as above - no previous notifcation

Replacement of coil ( had become corroded) and ignition lead for cylinder No 3 ! - unusual fault apparently

So all in all - not pleased with Skoda and/or dealer. However, service from Skoda Assist, breakdown technician, hire car staff etc was excellent.
