Superskoda (or other) estate bumper protector recommendations?

Featured Replies

I've been looking at this -> http://www.superskod...tive-panel-KI-R and wondered if anyone else had one on their estate? It's not obvious from the page how deep the protector goes and I've a suspicion it just protects the lip rather than all the way back to the boot latch.

We have a dog so I'm after something to stop him scratching the bumper when he gets in/out and don't fancy something that's black plastic.

I used VentureShield (http://www.venture-shield.co.uk/). It is a tough clear plastic film that you stick on. Has been really good at protecting the load area and you can't really see it unless you look very closely at the edges. If it gets damaged you can just peel it off. Not sure how it would stand up to dogs but worth a shot?

Thanks for that SWW - a quick look suggests a 15 quid DIY kit for the rear bumper. Did you find it easy to apply given it's adhesive nature?

I've just ordered one and it arrived on Friday. I'm working this weekend but will fit it as soon as I can (weather dependant) and post up some photos afterwards

It was very easy, took about 10 min. Getting it centred took a couple of attempts - get it wrong just peel off and try again. Just use loads of soapy water under the plastic which lets you slide it into position then squeegee the water and bubbles out, let it dry off and job done.

pictures please

You can't really see it, but if you look closely you can see the edge - more so when the car is dirty (like in the photo) as the dirt collects on the edge of the plastic.

I have the super skoda one (steel one) on my elegance estate i have black paint work and it sets the back end of very nicely, I do think though that dogs claws will still damage the paint though

Unfortunately not, was working last weekend, and it looks like it’ll be the same this one too. Rest assured as soon as I do photos will be posted...

It does look good, and certainly appears well made, I must admit to expecting it to be manufactured from much thinner stainless. First (very brief inspections), suggest that it may benefit from some wet & dry around the edges where it has been punched out, but more on that later.

i am waiting aswell.
