Is anyone on here running a hybrid turbo from turbo techincs

Featured Replies

From what I've heard they are the best turbos out there at the moment being the only supplier who seems to have an inkling of how to set up a VNT actuator properly.

I've been running 205bhp with 380ft lbs for 7 1/2 years now with my Hybrid turbo set up.

I avoided silly power as i need reliability as i do trackdays and drive it daily.

Never had any problems apart from damaged turbo hoses which caused boost leaks.

I've just been looking at Turbo Technics site and the Hybrid turbo for the Fabia vRS is rated upto 200bhp with the turbo code GT1749V but the Audi A3 for the BKD engine runs the exact same turbo, and is rated to 236bhp.

How can the exact two turbo's be rated to different power figures on different cars? Are the turbo's really different just the same 'base' model with different internals?Could you use the Audi A3 turbo on the vRS so you can make more power in the future with other mods?

BKD is a 16v engine and the manifold is different, maybe that design allows for better exhaust flow.

Ah right I see yeah it could well be the difference in power reading's due to it being 16v

Looks like they offer the s210 which appears o be a Hybrid pd130 and an s211 which might be a hybrid pd150. The s211 is cheaper also!

I just won a garret pd130 turbo off ebay for cheapy (turbo technics nor cr turbos rebuild kkk units for hybrid), then rang turbo technics. The price for converting this unit into a hybrid is 650 + VAT, they will collect the turbo and deliver it back included in the cost. Hope this helps someone out!

I will be running of their turbo's this year, and hoping to better the below times
