Boot badges

Featured Replies

I'm with Silver on this one. I've changed the badges on both my pre-FL Octavias to the newer FL style, and have left the original green and black Skoda badge as it was.

Cost was about £15-16 per badge for "Octavia" and ""TDI". Certainly improves the look. (And no comments about the state of the car in the first picture please!)

Mike

I don't know why but to me that freshens up the back of the pre FL more than changing the light clusters!

  • Not cool mate - this is the first post made by this guy. Welcome to Briskoda Ian - feel free to ask away mate!

  • Pah! I've put the FL badges on the back of my pre-FL and did the FL rear light clusters too! Cost was £15 for each badge I did the Scout too and they come on special backing so are dead easy to li

  • I like the badges and lights from the FL... May consider doing it myself, there is nothing wrong with doing something to your car to make it look better in your own opinion, I prefer the rear end on t

Sorry Phil, not keen on that mixture of old and new. The facelift TDI badge is a small chromed TDI lettered badge that sits on the left side of the boot lid, as in my pics.

Mike

Yes was just looking at your pics and actually saw a FL octavia this morning and noticed the TDI badge at the other side.

I think I will look into gettting the TDI badge and removing this TDI badge.

I was very surprised at how quickly the badges came off with some dental floss!

Phil

I have the Citigo badges on my FL Silver Octy vRS, & the now blend in very nicely now they have some dust & dirt on them :giggle:

Have posted pics in another thread about th new badges.

Erm!?

Likewise I shall not be getting the new Skoda badges.

Unfortunately for me people will continue to put new model bits on old models :giggle:. Rest assured when the Octavia 3 comes out I shall not be trying to turn any part of my car into it, if I want it that much I will just buy one.

That is not all the things you could quote what about when I said I changed my mind and pointed out that I had formerly been against it? Big reason is the de-laminating badges issue, the original ones were a joke as was the new one that was on front on new grill surround! Even all 4 wheel ones were getting scabby and the car was not old and had only done about 6000 miles.

Not on this thread?

I'll stick to being a "fraud" then :giggle:

Have given my retraction a few times, only thread I could think of off the top of my head was the new badges one

I think somebody asked for pics of how it looks on a colour-coded grill, so here's one of mine...

FFS I had just decided it prob wasn't for me and then you go and throw this pic up and im back to square one!

That looks spot on.

Can you take a couple of pics of the rear one as well please?

like the ones you took there showing close up and to the side.

Thanks

Sitting within the recess but not fully into it, riding the rim so to speak. Click on pic to make bigger.

Sticking out a bit much for my liking. :(

Talking under 2mm difference if it was able to go all the way into the recess. The badges are more angular and less slope domed than old type. Rapid badge and new Octy 3 Badge might be a closer match for diameter.

Gonna give this a little more thought before I go for it.

thanks
