The original plan was for these to be my winters, but they way the timing worked out, the neptunes will now be the winter set and I've had my new Goodyear Assymetric 2's fitted up on to these wheels instead.

They're made by BBS for the SEAT accessory range, refurbished satin black with the SEAT logo removed.

I popped on on the scales before it was fitted up; they are 11.2kg each. I've not weight a neptune myself but i'd read (i think) that they are 12.7kg, so that would be 1.5kg saving per wheel.

The Goodyears feel super-grippy after the winters.

BBS RD256 if I'm not mistaken? Not what you want to hear, but I love your Neptunes so now you have fitted these............... :'(

I love them. Won a set on ebay in the summer but the seller would not complete the purchase :-(

Look spot on to me!

Mr Page, you are geekier than me! Yes, BBS RD256.

Don't worry, neptunes will return at some point. I'll probably get them tidied up now they're off the car - they have a few dings..

:)

Nice Rob...need some bigger calipers now!

Looked great yesterday Rob at Silverstone. Your vRS really stood out with those new boots. Looked nearly as nice as the white Ferrari 599 GTO parked behind you. By the way, did you hear the 599 and the FF leave? Fookin 'ell what a noise!!!

Looking real good now

I like the look of them, but are they 17s? They seem quite small?

18" x 7.5" et51 so same as OE.

I think 10mm spacers all round would make a big difference, I can see where babs is coming from, it's probably the colour that makes them look smaller, my BBS look tiny on the car compared to the silver Zeniths!

Just call me geekus maximus Rob, :giggle:

Not seen those before - look good

Bloody hell those Neptunes are heavy if that weight is correct! My Turinis are 9kg each.

Looks great needs a black grille though

yep, you're right. the chrome looks completely out of place now.

i've got some ideas on what to do, but not decided yet. what this space.

:)

Yep, chrome must die - whichever way you go about it Rob :)

Look great but if they are the same size and offset as the Neptunes, then I guess there could be problems if you were planning even a NQS BBK brake upgrade or the R32 setup

I don't have any plans for a big brake kit at the moment.

I keep looking at it but TBH using the car on the road the OE brakes are perfectly fine. The only reason I'd look at a BBK would be for the weight saving of an ally caliper and two piece disc, but a grand is a lot to drop just for a few kg saved. It'd be a different story if i tracked the car, but its a skoda estate FFS, not a track car!

Not measured, but i think the BBS have more clearance, due to the design of the spoke. Bear in mind though, I have my winters on the Neptunes anyway so if i was to do something it'd have to fit both these and neptunes.

:)

I must be the odd one out on this one, Don't like them look like volvo alloys.

I think a black wrap on the grill surround would look good with the black mirror covers and wheels on yours Rob

You're right, they look a bit like 850/V70 T5 alloys. I still like them though :)

Not too keen to be honest.

I was looking at a set of 17x8 enkeis off an evo 9 (cheap good looking and very light) but obviously 114 pcd - pcd corrective bolts would have done the trick but the Mitsubishi wheels use lug nuts with a flat face... To much of an unknown to take a risk

No worries. TBH I didn't really like them when they first when on the car (after all, they were only meant to be some cheap winters) but they've grown on me.

I also did some research on lightweight rims, and i almost pressed the button on a set of neuspeeds. In the end these were too good to miss at the price - they only cost me 275 quid incl the refurb.

For me, the other positive with these is that they match exactly the OE specs - i wouldn't be comfortable with something like those enkeis with wobble bolts - too much of a risk IMO.

I've got a few other things in the pipeline - walk, tt arms, rarb etc

:)

those are the same as SWMBO has on her Leon!

Interesting....someone was reminded of Porsche Technos on another forum. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I happen to like them myself.

Pics don't do them justice TBH. Matt black finish on a white car its very hard to capture on a blackberry camera :)

Daz - yes, that's them. The chrome finish is gash IMO and does not last well on UK salty winter roads. Looks loads better in black plus mine have had the "seat sport" bit smoothed off.

:)
