Need 2 doors, would non Vrs ones do the job?

Featured Replies

Hi, as the title says I need the 2 passenger side doors for my fabia due to someone reversing into me. would non vrs ones work? I know the vrs has a we bump stip but thats not a problem more so thinking is their a difference in them with regards to electric windows, and central locking??

My rear doors are manual windows so assuming any rear door will work?? Assumin they will all have central locking?? Although front windows will have to be from electric windows I assume??

Just filling them isnt really a option as they are in quite a bad shape..

Thanks

No, they don't all have central locking but the majority do. Any spec above Classic should have central locking, bump strips and front electric windows. However, don't discount Classic ones as most will have electric windows and central locking. You can buy the bump strips and it would make spraying them easier, if necessary.

When i replaced both of my side doors i just used the new ones as a shell and swapped everything over from the vrs doors to the shell ones.

It would be hard to match 2 second hand doors to your spec, colour, door cards, electric windows etc but everything can be swapped over apart from the colour, bar a respray anyway.

Depending on your colour you may be able to pick up the right ones and put them straight on with minimum work. I'd get in touch with one of the specialist breakers and enquire about prices for the whole thing. Obviously they will be more than a bare door but it depends whether you want to do the work. If you wait a while you may get exactly what you need.

Possibly Classic one for the rear, then swap the central locking bits.Might be the cheaper option . And you know that the central locking yopu've got is OK.

Not sure when Classics got Central locking, mine certainly doesn't have it (July 2004)

Classics did have an optional extra of it though. I had it on my 1.4mpi so like said, don't discount just because its classic
