Yes, there is a recall on the Yeti.

For the dreaded white worm on the boot badge

Mine went in for an aircon problem last week and both front and rear badges were replaced.

  • Skoda cz site has a 'Recall' page to check for recalls against your entered VIN number. No detail is revealed but you at least know if you have an affected vehicle. Seems Dealers and Skoda don't bot

  • Long time wonderer returns. Had a call on Wednesday from the dealer about this. Thought it was a wind up. Just checking that it wasn't. Still puzzled why this is actually a recall. Do the badges act

A recall? Really??! You sure this isn't just a customer service bulletin? I can't see them contacting all Yeti owners and demanding they return to their dealer as soon as possible to get a new badge fitted; I suspect next time each Yeti is in for anything it'll just leave with a fresh one.

It'll be done at the next service I'd magine.

Not sure if that classifies as a recall or not.

My Yeti was in for it's 20,000 mile service yesterday and the paperwork states: "Band Badge recall please check history (poss replace before) rear badge".

They will be ordering in one for me and giving me a call when it is in.

I hadn't even noticed that it had the white worm until I had a close look yesterday.

I just thought it was funny that they called it a recall.....

Yikes Mike you have now well and truly overtaken me in the mileage front! I've not even broken 14,000 yet!

Johann, you need to get out more! :drunk:

Dewi has recently passed his second birthday and the odometer is about to change to 40k.

I haven't managed to get past 1000! And highly unlikely to until after June I would think!!!!

I just get in and drive almost every day...................

I did do 1000 miles in 5 days going up to the Lakes & back though. The car was telling me to 'service now' though for the last 1200 miles. It wanted servicing at 19,000 miles.

By the way, the engine really loosened up between 16 & 17,000 miles.

You have a way to go yet.

Passed 30k during my recent 1900 mile round trip to the Alps.

Aye. But the London Underground gets me most places. And no one is arranging any Yeti Adventures to go to.... Nudge nudge wink wink. Miles will climb again in summer.

the Superb II has the same issue, I just spotted a post in the Superb II section as my badges have white worm, so just gave the dealer a quick call and there is indeed a customer service bulletin on badges for the Superb II, so probably the Yeti as well.

Our 2010 Fabia II noticeably has the problem but so far the Monster is OK; now almost 11 months since registration and 13,000 miles done.

39789 - b ooked in for 40k service and summer tyres refitting, and winters into storage. Not 2yo until end April.

But - this is perfect Beemer weather so the Yeti aint being used at all.

I had a recall on the fuel injection system last week

Had both front and rear Skoda badges replaced on my Octavia for this last week when it was in for the diesel pipe recall.

My Yeti was at the dealers today to be checked over for a low oil pressure warning light that appeared once two weeks ago. I have just collected it and the service manager said that they had had a recall notice today about replacing the white worm badge and that mine had been done. By the way - fault investigated and no problem found. I shall be keeping a careful watch on this!

That is almost exactly the same as mine George?

And stop posing to the young ladies in the Beemer!!

Well Betty has just clocked up 2k miles in 19 days. Not bad going :giggle:

Superskoda.com have a variety of alternatives including a black surround to a red reflective Yeti footprint.

PS: I'm on about 15,700 miles with service due in 3,000.

Don't go to Superskoda, have a look here :-) You can get your own custom badges done as part of the GB if interested.

I've had two sets of PastyBoy's custom badges fro my centre caps and they are good for this.

I do though feel that Superskoda's metal/plastic badges that cover over the OE badge (as opposed to sticking onto it) may look better for their purpose; see here -

My car was in for it's 40000 mile service yesterday and they told me about the badge recall and also said there was a software update due as well, not for anything specific just a few tweeks apparently.

1 for the rear badge replacing and the other for the turbo

Mine was changed under warranty last june when it was serviced at 18k miles
