Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Anyone any idea when this beauty might be available and what engine is going in it .Just bought the 2.0 fsi version and may change for vrs when it comes out but have to say having owned the 2004 model honda civic type r this car is like a RR just needs that extra bit of poke, and it would be perfect but for motorway driving its a dream .

I was told preorder around Nov 05 although this is a loose statement by skoda auto helpline

Have you got the fsi yet? if so, whatsit like as mine is 6-8 weeks away.

A list I saw said it was due in December 05. Has it been confirmed anywhere whether it'll be petrol or not?

I would assume that the 3.2v6 would be a possibility as it's used in the A3.

Seat have just released details of the new Leon Cupra. Guess what?

2.0 Turbo FSI 197 BHP

eek,

Thats gonna run things a bit close between the cupra and the octy. If I was Skoda then I'd release it about the same time as I can't see them making it alot cheaper. i reckon it will be a petrol version though.

What about the possibility of a choice of vRSes? Petrol and diesel?

Expanding the range a little, I wonder when Skoda will get their hands on the 170 TDi that's just been put into the new Passatt? Do VAG Group still operate the rule of the subsiduary who develops a new engine having exclusive rights to it for 18 months?? There also could be the opportunity for using the quite new 3.0 V6 TDi that's available in the A4? Enough room to shoehorn that in?

And as a range topper, I reckon a 3.2 V6 Octy would be very nice indeed.

:iagree: I need to know whether it's worth saving up for!

V6 Octy - imagine the sound :thumbup: I just love the sound of 6-cylinder engines :D:D

:iagree: That 3.2 is a nice unit too. Don't like it quite as much as the Beemer straight-six though. Bu I still thought it made a nice sound when I had a quick go in an A3 3.2 Quatto

I hope Skoda UK are watching this thread especially closely ;)
