headlight tinting

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

Summer is coming as you all probably know. I've been thinking about darkening our silver Octy. I don't think it is clever to spend £300 on tinted headlights on car that I am not sure i will keep. So I am looking for alternatives for making them dark. I've heard about sprays, tint films.. But not sure which is best. Maybe someone have done something else?

Thanks,

hunker7

Thanks, Any photos of your octy with this?

Now Im a fan of mods but limiting the light from the already quite poor Octavia headlamps is probably not the greatest idea ever.

I have light to spare :D its a hid kit in mine

So prob not a bad thing

Im pleased with it :)

Ah, those ones thatll fail the MOT then :)

Thanks everyone. I know dark headlights would look much better, but if 15 quid film isn't going to work, i can spend £300 anytime... If i would be sure I'll keep the car, i wouldn't think twice about changing whole headlight :) Will try to do Lamin-x and post some photos on here...

No issues yet :)

Even when its not my mate doing the mots :D

Yeah sorry mate was a long day yesterday! this is mine

you can see on there that its designed the same as what a fly eye is, but a step further away it just looks like its all smoked, iv used lamin-x aswel but i found that their stuff really dimmed down the light output, this stuff dosnt seem too bad and so much easier to fit! took me half the time

What HID kit have you used in it? does it not give glare? i found some adapter thing that you can use and it converts h4 straight to d2s with a piece of metal under the bulb to apparently reduce glare, not sure its worth the money if it dosnt work though

I got a hids direct kit mate, its very rare i get anyone flash tbh, and thats actually only happend a few times........ Due to my lights anyway :D

I get more flashed lights from overtaking :p

Most of the time i used to have the lights lowered but i havent checked lately

I dont know if it makes any difference how your cars lowered ?? Would your lights point more down depending how your car sits ??

Prob not cos of bumps in the road, but then again you get a range rover or something come over a hill and it s just as brite

Hey ho ..... I shall not go off point
