turbo problems

Featured Replies

ive noticed lately that when the turbo spins up from low revs i get a short sqealing chirping type noise, the car then drives as normal but it worrying me. ive read a few things about this problem on other forums inc this

flutter as in chirpy noise like cossies used to make or a woosh?

chirp/flutter is compressor stalling, and a non-functioning recirc dv = bad news for the turbos lifespan

im not sure if this is my problem it sounds very much like it, this was off an audi forum so some more skoda knowledge on this would be great.

the car has 71k on it , is running shark stage 1 and a k&n panel filter i also replaced my dv valve witha new style piston type, im going to read the engine codes with my shark sts ill add them to the post later.

all advice gladly appreciated

fault codes are

P0196

P0299

P3137

P0642

epic thread revive, but both problems above are now sorted the turbo noise was the type d dv valve not holding the boost swapped for a type c and now ok.

The noisy aircon just needed a regas, which was done at my local kwik fit for £30.

just put his up in case people do a search for similar problems!
