need to find a part - power steering pump please help.

Featured Replies

I need a small part from the PAS pump of a 19 diesel, its the 90 deg circled in red,

where can i find it from online?

any good site apart from jorily ?

that's a zf pump, that's from a golf surely?

Anyways, as far as I'm aware there are no spare parts listed for the power steering pumps from vw or skoda, they only sell them as a compete unit.. I have seen those pipes pop out of the hole in the pump before, it's only pushed in there as an interference fit, there's no pressure there because it's just a return pipe from the fluid reservoir to the pump.

I took it off, yes its a zf and its off the skoda lump, also a friend of mine has the same pump on a skoda engine.. i cant find that part, i was thinking that i can cut a thread in the pump and put a brass 90deg bend or something like that... Or else another complete unit for 50euros

its only the inlet pipe so no pressure there, you could thread the housing if you were carefull and fit anything that has the right diameter and not restrictive.

faiing that I MAY be able to find one but can't garentee I have one

That would be great! If you can check and you have one, please give me a price inclueing postage to malta ! Would pay via paypal. That would be very helpfull... Im planing to start the conversion next week maybe as i dont have much time at the moment

If you can dig around for a part number there's about 10million Czech sites that sell a much more comprehensive set of bits than say the likes of say eBay, Jorily or other English sites are able to offer, I'm guessing because of both greater supply and greater demand in the Czech Republic. The problem is actually navigating the sites as they're all in Czech with no English options. Can be a bit of a mare, but with a little help from google translate, it was easy enough.

After an albeit not too extensive search, I settled on buying a stub axle and 2x ABS sensors which all in (including shipping) were some £50 cheaper than the dealer, and I think that generally parts for Skodas (or at least the Felicias) seem reasonable enough...... well, excepting £88ea for ABS sensors... the cheek xD

Maybe because they can get away with it as if the ABS light is on then its an MOT failure - unless you're cunning enough to take out the bulb in the dash :p

Not me though, I like my ABS me ^^

Don't think you can get away with taking the bulb out any more...

As for the PS pump issue, I think Jim's right - it's the return so it should be easy enough to sort something out that will do the job - certainly the one in the old PS pump in my Ibiza was only pushed in finger-tight and was never a problem.
