Welcome to the Skoda 'club' and a most helpful Forum you've found.

Don't know if your sdi is a 'Pumpe duze' engine ( someone else will be along soon to advise) but if it is, then it's important to use correct engine oil to save premature wear.

Regular oil changes ( at least annually) will prolong engine life and there's hope for 200,000 miles. Changing fuel filters regularly helps too.

Your Fabia is the mark 1, not to be confused with the latest shape Fabia which came as Fabia 1, Fabia2 and Fabia 3 trim levels for the first couple of years.

Why do you need to convert brakes? Give the guys on this forum an idea of what you are aiming at and you'll get lots of good quality advice.

Hope you enjoy Fabia ownership as much as I have, we've now got 2 new shape and 3 old shape Fabias in my family.

One of my sons' Fabia 1 has over 100,000 miles on it and it has NEVER broken down and left him stranded. It's a 1.2 petrol and he really rates it.

Not a PD engine so no need for the top notch oil, Quantum Synta will do nicely. You can fit the rear disks but you will need everything not just disks and calipers. Not a lot of point unless you just want the look.

Any mki Fabia seats will fit, including estates. Some Seat Ibiza and VW Polo seats will fit as well. None of the bigger models seats will fit without significant mods.

You should be able to change the front bumper and rear light clusters to the facelift ones without any problems.

If your motor is a Classic fitting the 6j steels with 185/60-14s.on will improve handling.
