Did anything come from it Danny ?

Sorry pal, Its on my list of things to do. I fitted a short shift and a bloke at work sold me some 18inch audi alloys for dirt cheap  , then when I had spent all that money I find out my turbo was dead (oil seals) :@ . So abit gutted, but I will pester my dad and see if he has got hold of anything yet!

No worries dude ?? hope the turbo wasn't to expensive ! What are the Jom strut braces like ? Bein nosey at your sig ;)

Turbo and a TIP is 675 so far and is being fitted tomos, The JOM top brace looks nice but doesn't fit perfectly, I had to raise my bonnet so it would fit. I can source some pics if needed!!

If you please mate as I've bought one today :) eBay £30 so expecting abit of improvisation will be needed !

And a big hammer!

I've got plenty of them ! Every good tool box needs at least 2 hammers

Few pics of when I fitted my jom strut!! I can get some info on my bonnet raising if you want to go down that route?

Cheers for that Danny ! What did you do/use to raise the bonnet ? Spacer blocks

With the lower brace, surely fabricating it out of a flat bar and bending it would kill any strength that the straight bar had. making it no more than a weight attached to your subframe?? the only way I could see is to use spacers for clearance of the dogbone mount.

or am I missing something?

No probs, yea I used 10 spacers on each bolt and got extended bolts from a local nuts and bolts place. Iv got the measurements somewhere I will find them tonight!!

Yea your right in thinking that but I won't be resting it against a wall and jumping on it. My dad's work has got a proper bending machine which shouldn't lose to much of its strength, also I am looking at making it slightly thicker than the standerd one to help  . If you were to use more spacers I think you would lose strength in that aspect, maybe wrong!!

Ah yeah, I was only thinking of flat bends from a vice or whatever.

Let us know how you get on with it.
